The reaction to Bloomfield leaving is an especially emotional one for many of us, one that I struggled to understand or describe at the time. Certainly the debate among Gasroomers has helped me understand better the perspectives and changes at the club that are in progress. These may well turn out to be positive for the club in theong run, but we have to acknowledge we are potentially also losing a lot of what we identified with during the Ainsworth and Bloomfield eras.
Wycombe achieving our greatest triumphs as a club with someone who epitomises what our special club means as much as Matt Bloomfield as manager would have meant an enormous amount to a sentimental old fool like me, it may take a little while to adjust while the dust settles and a new era at the club begins.
I sort of get the feeling that if they did not want him, they would have got rid, like they did with those they didn't want.
I'm guessing, they wanted him, but not with the same responsibility or role. Which he didn't want. Bit of an impasse, so not going to keep him in a job he doesn't want to do.
He seems totally dejected. I know it’s tough on him, but comments like “we will try our best to replicate this first half of the season” are quite negative. I’d argue we should be wording this a bit more positively - “what’s to say we can’t continue to improve with the new signings?”
He may not believe we can improve, but I think he should be putting a positive spin on things as captain.
You certainly must have watched a different video interview to me. Jack seemed very professional and level headed and seemed keen to face the challenge on Saturday.
No point critiquing his choice of words. I'd argue he should be saying what he thinks, and if he isn't and he just parrots out the company line or what he thinks fans want to hear then there's no point watching videos like that.

Well said @glasshalffull . It is possible that both parties and right in their intentions and beliefs. Shades of grey.
Any thoughts on a title of the autobiography? '@glasshalffull How I went into a toilet and changed the world forever'
cheers - good to hear your thoughts
now get back to the bar
NO MIDWEEK GAME!!!
What about Beaconsfield on Tuesday???!!!
(Joking - enjoy the sun and thanks for contributing eloquently to the discussions)
...and empty that half full glass. AP. In this case it is a positive!
But I thought they had the next man lined up?
Yes, but they can't make that look too obvious 🤫
Best post of the week. Thank you Alan and have a great holiday. 👍👍

It is going to be very strange to be an English club with Spanish fans coming over to wave Danish flags!
Idk, there might still be some tension from the Vikings' raids of Spain in the 9th and 10th centuries...
Next week isn't exactly miles away!
If only I had your faith this was the case!
Does anyone think a club who want to be data-driven and did not want their previous manager, have no plans or targets at all for if he goes?
That should not even be a controversial take at all!
I agree 100%, I would be really worried if we didn’t adopt a succession plan strategy for all key personnel.

Great perspective from Jack grimmer:

Still love the bloke and appreciate the realism.
Totally dejected !?!? You watched a different interview to me !

I must have watched a different video. He seemed very relaxed to me.

I thought Jack was superb, calm, balanced, professional; in fact the epitomy of the club captain.

To be fair, people who have had little contact with Scots can easily make that mistake.
Sam Grace started going to games in the MO'N years.
Mr Wycombe?
That was a bit of a revelation to me. Did anyone know this before the interview?
Very briefly played footy in the same team as him back in the day. He's Wycombe born and bred and Wanderers through and through.
Win on Saturday and the job's his.
Let's hope he doesn't start with Bloomy's Saturday win record. Seems a lifetime ago now where we couldn't win on a Saturday for months!
Very interesting, cheers! If you are willing to share, what positions did you both play?
