"The Chairboys are adamant the 22-year-old is not for sale in this window, and are holding firm as they bid to hold on to what they consider to be their star player."
Not sure keeping a player that wants to be elsewhere is sensible. Knowing he can leave for free at the end of the season (excepting a nominal compensation figure) will he be giving his all for us?
We were only ever going to sell Joe Low if a replacement could be found, and the deals for Lloyd Jones from Charlton and others have failed to materialise meaning that we've decided not to sell, which we're allowed to do
Hopefully Joe can go on to finish what he's started and play a starring role in our ascent to the Championship. I don't doubt his character for one second, and even if he is disappointed I can't imagine that he would ever give less than his all in a Wycombe shirt
Perhaps I have a different view of human nature than most. Personally, if another employer wanted my services on a vastly improved contract (with my current employer effectively receiving compensation of c £750k vis a trasfer fee) and it was a move nearer home and my contract ended in a few months, I'm not sure I would go above and beyond my basic contract requirements. Hopefully Low has a better attitude than me, but I did only ask the question.
I genuinely think players should have a different attitude in January than in the summer. It should be much more understandable for a club to hold firm at this time of year, especially in the thick of a promotion race. Low should know he will still have interested suitors come the summer.
And his basic contractual requirement is to play football as well as he can! Let's not pretend he won't be getting a hefty bonus if we do go up as well
I think Kone is a completely different situation as he has just signed a new contract. Low has only a few months left on his contract and will not sign another one.
I don't think that should make Low feel any more entitled to leave in the middle of a season - if anything he will make more money by being out of contract come the summer!
He’ll earn a better contract in the summer the better he plays until then, so it’s in his own selfish interests to do well even if he doesn’t care about Wycombe.
He is though a human being with dreams and feelings.
While it would be logical to play outstandingly well between now and the end of the season to earn the best possible contract he can next season - whether with us or someone else - he may or may not be able to do so.
My guess for what it is worth is that he will be just fine.
Who is to say that his short term ambition is Championship football and he can’t achieve that with us? If we do go on to win promotion, he may well sign a new contract.
”Done deal. Magnus Westergaard has signed a contract until the summer of 2028 with Wycombe Wanderers, who bought the midfielder for around one million euros, 7.5 million kroner, from Viborg. A record purchase for the League One top club.”
Joe is a Cardiff boy and I don’t think he would want to be moving to Swansea even if it may be nearer his South Wales family. I think he will stay and sign a new deal when we get promoted and will still make the Wales squad. 👍👍
Looks like there is some sort of log jam on the official site unless mine is not updating...as the BFP seem to have the first interview with Sam Grace about the Beaconsfield game. taking over and the Mansfield game.
Hope that is not an indication of more change in the media team.
How does the data science manage feelings? xF I presume?
“After analysing the psychometrics the player completed, the algorithm suggests a 10% performance drop in the first game after a transfer request is denied with only a 1% chance of publicly criticising the club and less than 20% chance of personal interactions within the team triggering adverse effects in other players. The performance drop is predicted to remit rapidly with a return to baseline within 1 month. The recommendation is therefore to keep the player however this should be reevaluated if greater remuneration is offered.”

Announcement imminent?

I find that comment quite disrespectful to Joe Low
He's still got a chance of getting a medal at the end of the season before leaving on a free hasn't he?
Pure uneducated guesswork time:

Same for Kone, obviously.

That is my hope too, although I’m not holding my breath.
Concur with Vincey, on Twitter now

That's a lot of Kroner. "We're gonna need a bigger Viking boat."
I thought his main reason was a wish to go back home to Wales to enhance his International propects.

I still think Joe might end up at Luton assuming of course Matt has a say in transfers and their data says he is a decent player.
It’s on my official club site.
Still cannot see it. I'm going to have to change my Steam driven laptop.
Sorry @Wendoverman I made a mistake it was the BFP link I picked up not the official site.
Phew!
I don't like to think I am not up to the minute.
A bit worrying...no mention of the new signing either.
