I'm sure they do, but we know that credit doesn't last long, so he may as well go earn more money for his family while can, and test himself in the Championship.
He got a side promoted to the Premier League - I'd call that success. A bit stubborn, yes, but I don't think Southampton recruited well enough to have a good chance of staying up whoever they have in the dugout.
Do you not think he is overly stubborn? I have no real opinion about him either way but he did seem too wedded to the style (but hey, that worked for Kompany)
After reading so much about how hopeless Martin is as a manager I thought I must have imagined the promotion to the Premier League.... Not sure I'd want him, or that he'd be an option, but people do easily dismiss the fact he got Southampton to the Premier League, and hasn't been that well backed for this season.
Losing Blooms is a massive blow , if he does go I am sure that the leadership team have got plans in motion , I am sure that there will be clauses in place that our players cannot go to Luton for a period of time , also Kone is far too good for that club , and playing and living in Luton...well let's says it's got to be one of the worst places to live in England !!!
Martin completely and utterly out of his depth and noted down here for his stubbornness of a style that was never going to work. He would have been sacked long ago according to my very reliable source but they couldn’t afford to. He was not at all popular with the fan base down here. I wouldn’t want him at Wycombe thank you.
I’m pretty sure he would have been told this was a possibility bearing in mind Matt had little to do with this or that is the impression we are given. I’m sure the other Dane is fully aware .
For context, Martin took over a club receiving parachute payments, and finished behind the other two (Leicester and Leeds) and also Ipswich. So yes, he won the playoffs, but with a much bigger budget than anyone else but Leeds of the four. He still gets credit for that, but it is a long way from GA taking us into the Champo as far as success against the odds.
I don't want to hang our future on a three game run of success with spending power above 21 other clubs in the division.
FFS you lot are truly unbelievable - I came back to this thread to find 422 unread posts; most saying the same shit.
Whilst Blooms might leave he seemed upbeat after the win on Friday.
There are many innocent reasons he didn't take training today - he was ill, his wife was ill, a family emergency, a previously agreed day off as the first team squad are not playing until Saturday etc. etc.
The bookies are the worst indicator as all they are interested in is making a quick buck or ten from mugs who know little to nothing.
Many of you have taken a bunch of nothing & turned it into 100% the new ownership team hate him & he isnt wanted. Seriously, what real verifiable evidence do any of you have?
Until such time as there is an announcement by WWFC Blooms IS OUR MANAGER.
I wouldn’t mind betting that the new signings knew exactly what was about to happen before they signed. They might even know the identity of the next guy.
I expect the new head coach to be someone most of us haven't heard of, but we ought to have the funds to pay compensation to get whoever we want, within reason. We're higher up the food chain than we've ever been.

Yes it would.
Just as long as it ain't Rooney, Lampard or Terry for starters.
I think it's always possible to "find out" the value of a players/managers release clause if they are really wanted by another club.
Don't disagree that Matt probably knows it already, but that probably has no real consequence.
I don't think for a moment that we'd get him, but have we become so entitled that we'd turn our noses up at Russell Martin? Oh dear.
Kone can do better than Luton as his next step imo
Apparently it would be a terrible appointment (see above).
Do you think Joe Low would find himself at Luton?
I personally find his style of football boring. But i agree he is probably above League 1 standard so we won't get him.
Would have no problem at all with Russell Martin. Implements a playing style very quickly.
This sums him up for me. So many plaudits, so little success.
Possession based style of play!
56 pass move!
High average possession!
Most touches in opposition box!
(cough 13th placed finish cough)
I thought being an ex player would have him top of the list!
I think it's obv that Richard Thomas and Lee Harrison will be following Matt like they did when Matt was appointed?
We thought that with Bloomfield!

I would never wish the England job on him. I like him too much for that.

I wonder if Mr Nx.Manager will be appointed in time for our next game. I also wonder what Hagelskaer is thinking right now

Could it be a reason why Low hasn't left yet to wait and see who comes in?
But it's not just the bookies' odds... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jan/13/luton-close-to-appointing-wycombes-matt-bloomfield-as-new-manager
