The WC final and the Wimbledon game are exceptions which prove the rule. The vast majority of extra-times are absolutely abject.
Though if you have to have it, it is absolute insanity not to have a golden goal. You spend all this time trying to separate two teams, finally get separation...and then play on to see if you can knot them again.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, obviously, but I can't see I'd have much common ground with anyone who thinks scrapping FA Cup replays was a good idea
There can't be a more sickening end to a league season than losing a playoff final you were leading as late as 119 mins, on pens.
Although clearly that GM Vauxhall conference season not going up on equal points is a contender. But that was fairly expected by the last game, so the goal from their keeper v Col Utd probably a more precise low.
Losing to Tottenham to a deflected late goal after winning against 10men late on and your keeper just needing to boot it anywhere but their man's head, another contender.
Does anyone know when the last day of the season is likely to be confirmed? Got to plan something for my mum's birthday but would be gutted if I planned something that clashed with our title party...

Does anyone else hear Green Velvet in their head whenever the commentator mentions Partey?

The final and maybe semis should have extra time (probably all knockout games at the WC should), but there's no need in earlier rounds
Probably shouldn't mention what a lot will think when they hear that name..
I could live with that - with the golden goal added too, ideally.
Nooo, golden goal was awful and just made for even more defensive football.
Remember silver goal?
You don't remember 'Trezegueeeeeeeeeeeet!'?
One of the greatest endings to a tournament possible.
I was 6, so not really

Sorry, two days short of 6 😅
A brilliant ending!
France v Italy: UEFA EURO 2000 final highlights
I'm well aware of the game, but you asked me if I *remembered* it 😉
Thought there were only two exceptions to extra time being rubbish in the history of football?

Tell me you don't actually read what people write without telling me you don't actually read what people write.
Wycombe - Southend: another example of extra time being rubbish
Why did you have to bring that up!
Kick it out Bloomfield!
Craig's hamstring injury
Odd positioning from our keeper.
Their keeper's supreme pen gamesmanship
Rubbish for us, yes. Quite entertaining for the neutral though

They were announced on Saturday 23rd March last season (final day fixtures were on Saturday 27th April).
Thanks! Might plan it for the Friday night to be safe then
