  • Potentially solidifying 2nd without kicking a ball - this Sam Grace chap is playing 4D chess!

  • 8 added minutes for Wrexham… Of course

  • Much as I would like to think an Ainsworth team would never waste time with a lead... 😂

  • Spectacular capitulation from Southampton

  • God bless you Sir Gareth of Ainsworth!

  • There cannot be many better examples of why crap teams shouldn't insist on playing out from the back under all circumstances than that 3rd goal Southampton just conceded.

Wow. That is utterly appalling at Premier league level.

  • Remember when some posters on here claimed Gaz wouldn’t be able to save Shrewsbury?

  • That’s six points from Birmingham and Wrexham. What a man!

It shouldn't be a diss to GA to say I didn't think he will keep them up based on a 9 point deficit in a tough division. Again, head v heart - I'll be as delighted as anyone if he does it, and it would potentially be his 2nd greatest achievement in management, which takes some doing!

  • How could anyone possibly doubt Gareth Ainsworth?

    Absolute legend

  • Surely you'd back Gaz to get them above either Rovers or Northampton?

5 points behind, but they look full of togetherness and hard work, and more than solid at the back. That performance brought a tear to the eye. Tackles flying in, players running themselves into the ground, blocks and headers galore. Football heritage

  • The Shrews fans have really taken to him haven’t they. Was very impressed with George Lloyd.

  • Again, it's not doubting him, it's the situation he is in. See: QPR disaster.

I'm just saying there is a lot in football beyond one man's control, especially when he has just rocked up to a squad. He can do it, it is still a huge hill to climb to seal it.

One could argue it's just as disrespectful to imply it's easy to keep Shrewsbury up. It is going to take every ounce of nous, effort and genius he has to make it happen. I would genuinely see him as achieving something few have ever done if he takes what is possibly the poorest squad in the league from bottom to outside the relegation spots.

  • I want Gaz back

  • We’ll do him a favour at AP a week Saturday against Northampton 👍

  • Agent Gaz has done us another solid. Fucking legend 👏 🙌

  • Bloody hell, BBC, that looks like my nan the last time I visited her in hospital

  • Interestingly, Northampton v Shrewsbury is the second to last game of the season.

My heart will always want him back.... but my head tells me he wouldn't suit our current set up and way we want to play.

He came in at the right time and probably got out at the right time. He will forever be our hero for saving us from non league obscurity and getting us into the Championship for the 1st time in our history. Forever a Wycombe legend.

I wouldn’t want to taint that for him.....or for us.

Right now I'm happy watching him mastermind the Shrews away from relegation.

Never say never.... but right now we need someone.... but not Gaz.

  • Still a lot of work to be done but some brilliant wins.

More of the same when they play Huddersfield please assuming that's re-arranged for a soon date.

  • I really do think that Wrexham will not be in the top two and Huddersfield pose more of a threat to us than they do. Wrexham have climbed the leagues below with McClean, Mullin and Fletcher, who are all aging players and past their best.

Agreed - they have been the definition of spawny up to now.

Having seen the whole division, I actually would place Wrexham below Birmingham, ourselves, Stockport, Mansfield, Huddersfield and Charlton, at least.

  • Just a word about McClean tonight, as I've often posted a bit of dislike for him.

But thought he handled a lot of abuse well tonight, smiling it off. Even at one stage where a massive steward had to literally form a physical barrier cm from him trying to take a throw in to stop people chucking stuff. Whilst a couple of other stewards had to stop a couple of shimmering apes trying to get at him.

He literally barely had room to take the throw in the steward was so close, but he clearly recognised the risk of the situation that close to their fans, so got it done and got out of there quick!

  • ps agree with this.

Wrexham have a super strong home record, but away from home they are very vulnerable.

  • Would have him back in a heart beat. Absolute hero!

  • The question is what would be the best result next Thursday? Obviously not a Wrexham win. A draw would mean one potential point is lost overall but a Birmingham win would make second spot more comfortable. As I expect Birmingham will win the league I'd be happy with Wrexham 0 Birmingham 4. And Wrexham to have a couple sent off for good measure!
