  • I'm not sure Bolton will make the mistake of giving us another player that they deem not good enough.

    Sadlier and Morley

    Vs

    Williams and Forino

Wouldn't have seen it at the time but I know which two I'd rather have now.

  • Amazingly, many fans in the summer a) thought Forino might stay and b) were upset he left, even though he probably has a worse injury record than the much-derided Taff.

  • When you look at our goals montage, a lot of the goals come from one twos in and around the penalty area. Surely this is Vokes' natural fodder?

  • When / if he is fully fit he'll definitely offer something different.

Hopefully he's around soon when the games really do come thick and fast.

Even this season a number of people eagerly and repeatedly mentioned him on the ex player thread, before an unfortunate injury kicked in.

  • If only to see those celebratory backward somersaults.

  • I was certainly disappointed to see him leave for nothing as a consistently fit Chris Forino would have been worth a ton of cash for us. But currently it appears a consistently fit Chris Forino does not exist and that often happens in football. The club made the right decision by not offering him a contract too good to refuse as he was simply too much of a risk.

  • It's a great shame for the player himself. I am convinced that had he not been made of glass, he would be a Premier League player by now.

Injury update ahead of Charlton Athletic (A) tomorrow (29th December 2024)

With the welcome return of both Josh Scowen and Gideon Kodua on Boxing Day we have just three players on the list.

    DOUBTS:

Jasper Pattenden (unspecified) | Last played: 20th December 2024 (Bolton Wanderers (H) D0-0) | Return date: not stated

Kieran Sadlier (hernia surgery) | Last played: 10th October 2024 (Queens Park Rangers (H) W1-0) | Return date: not stated

    OUT:

Sam Vokes (knee ligaments) | Last played: 20th August 2024 (AFC Wimbledon (A) L0-1) | Return date: not stated

Charlton Athletic have two doubts and three out.

Strikers Chuks Aneke (groin) and Daniel Kanu (hamstring) are doubts.

Full-backs Kayne Ramsay (knee) and Tennai Watson (hamstring) and centre-back Zach Mitchell (knee) are out.

Worth keeping an eye out for centre-back Lloyd Jones (5), who could join us in January. PoS Danny Hylton is likely to be on their bench.

Injury update ahead of Blackpool (H) tomorrow (4th January 2025)

Jasper Pattenden (unspecified), Kieran Sadlier (hernia surgery) and Sam Vokes (knee ligaments) are all out.

Matt Bloomfield says Kieran Sadlier won't be fit for at least another couple of weeks - https://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/24829054.injury-update-provided-wycombe-wanderers-kieran-sadlier/

Blackpool have one doubt and three players out.

Centre-back Elkan Baggott (thigh) could be on the bench. Full-back Andy Lyons (ACL), winger Josh Onomah (abductor) and striker Jake Beesley (knee ligaments) are all out.

Expected line-up: (4-4-2) Harry Tyrer | Matthew Pennington - Odel Offiah - Oliver Casey - James Husband | Robert Apter - Albie Morgan - Lee Evans - CJ Hamilton | Ashley Fletcher - Kyle Joseph. Jordan Rhodes is expected to be named on the bench.

  • Oh my god. What a scary juxtaposition. Jordan Rhodes tomorrow (albeit on the bench) and Huddersfield on Tuesday.

  • Useful injury update in the BFP today. Taf training again after being ill over Christmas, Vokes back in training, but will need some time as he's been out for so long. Sadlier back on the grass (not sure if this means he's back in full training). Serious hamstring injury for Jasper sadly, seems he'll be out for quite a while. Lubala should also be fine for tomorrow after recovering from illness.

  • Taf just can't get a break can he. Already gets so many niggles, but ill on top!

  • A break is just about the only ailment he hasn’t had, remarkable given the consensus is he is made of glass.

  • Injury update of Huddersfield Town (H) tomorrow (7th January 2025)

BFP have covered us so here's the opposition. They have five doubts and four out.

Midfielder David Kasumu (illness) is likely to return. First-choice goalie Lee Nicholls (elbow surgery), wing-back Lasse Sørensen (hamstring) and centre-back Radinio Balker (fractured ankle) will be assessed. Centre-back Nigel Lonwijk (hamstring) is very unlikely to feature.

Full-back Ruben Roosken serves the first of a three-match ban. Wing-back Mikael Miller (knee surgery) and strikers Danny Ward (ACL) and Rhys Healey (calf) are out.

Expected line-up: (3-5-2) Jacob Chapman | Tom Lees - Michal Helik - Matty Pearson | Brodie Spencer - Ben Wiles - David Kasumu - Herbie Kane - Josh Koroma |Callum Marshall - Freddie Ladapo

Huddersfield Town are unbeaten in their last 14 league matches (W9 D5). They've conceded eight goals in those 14 matches. For comparison our record is W9 D4 L1. We've conceded 12 goals.

  • They seem a mixture of depressed and confident on their forum...though mostly agreeing we're not up to much.

A bit like the Gasroom. 😊

  • Extremely tough game tomorrow. I'd bite your hand off for a 0-0 draw right now.

We really need to get the home form going again.

2 wins in the last 5 home league games, 3 wins in the last 8 in the league.

They've had a couple of blows with injury and suspension like we have, so let's hope for the best.
