Nature abhors a vacuum and all that. Sources are varied, with obviously official sources given priority. We know from Matt Bloomfield that Sam Vokes is "back on the grass" (assuming not the CBD kind) and Gideon Kodua won't be fit until after Christmas.
Recovery from hernia surgery is usually 3-4 weeks and Kieran Sadlier did say he was "looking forward to being back on the pitch very soon." Josh Scowen's return date is based upon a specific source from a trusted friend.
As a general rule when managers say a player is 'back' I interpret it as back in training, rather than available for selection. Of course, none of this is an exact science.
I hope we still have a great December, as I don't want to spend the future wondering what might have happened had we not risked Scowen in a pointless Pizza Cup game.
