I saw a video about total points in each EFL division (running total) since 1981. Can anyone guess the top three clubs for each division?
Looking for teams that have spent a long time in those divisions.
I’ll go
champ: Preston or Millwall
league one : Peterborough
league two : Crewe
I’d go Sheffield Utd, then Brentford then Rochdale
None are in the top three for their divisions, sorry!
Preston not in top 17 for Champo (which is all they showed)
Millwall 9th in Champo
Peterborough 9th in L1
Crewe 14th in L2
Nailed it for L1 and L2, and Brentford and Rochdale were #1 for each. Great guessing!
Sheffield United not in top three for the Champo (6th).
First effort was pretty dismal!
Try Blackburn for Champo
Watford?
Middlesbrough maybe?
Stoke?
@Shev flippin heck I’ve surprised myself! I remember hearing once that Rochdale had been in league 2 for about 40 years and it’s easy to forget that Brentford actually used to regard a season or two in the second tier as good progress
Burnley for the Championship perhaps?
Bristol City?
I'll take a wild punt on West Brom for the Championship.
Derby County for Championship
Norwich?
Leicester?
Not sure how many guesses I am allowed. Occurs to me that Leeds have spent a lot of years in level two.
Reading
@Commoner is the only guess above in the top three of the Champo, as Derby were 3rd. Still looking for top two!
Others from above:
Watford = 4th
Middlesbrough = 8th
Norwich = 10th
Blackburn = 11th
West Brom = 12th
Reading = 14th
Leeds = 15th
Leicester = 17th
Bristol City = Not in top 17
Burnley = Not in top 17
Stoke = Not in top 17
Birmingham for Championship
7th, a little surprisingly. I guess their spell in the PL and the odd season slumming it in tinpot L1 hindered them!
Barnsley? They were a bit of a fixture before booming and busting
You've got the 2nd place club! Much more mindful than mindless, in my opinion!
Also the right line of thinking, much like @username123 with L1 and L2.
Swansea?
Palace, maybe?
Not in top 17, sorry!
Palace are 13th.
QPR?
Man City
QPR were 16th.
Forest?
