I don't know that it will be over, he might be determined to prove himself, but I do think he will have to lower his sights a bit, surely he won't get offered another Championship job !
I really want Wrexham to go up at some point, as it would be nice to see how "romantic" the journey is to Deadpool & friends when they have to think about losing up to 13 million per year just to compete.
Them dropping like a stone is attractive but I wouldn't be too sure that their income wouldn't also go up and additional publicity hungry investors, marquee has beens and sponsors pull them into a new bracket.
There were a few charts, they made it clear ownership in the conference could probably be done on "TV star money", aiming higher needed "Film star money" but Championship and Prem needed "Oil money", "Nation state money" or both , can see them flogging a good percentage of it should they go up this year.
I am no great fan of the Wrexham story or their playing style, but fair play to the film stars their involvement has done wonders for not only WFC but more importantly the local economy.
I like others suspect they will be happy for 12 months or so in the Championship (if they get there) but if they establish themselves I can see them selling a fair percentage to one of the major US sports franchises.
I quite enjoyed the programme and my visit , I guess it needs these gimmicks to fire a bit of interest and investment and it's not long since the lower tiers all looked absolutely doomed. I think @flymofrank made the point earlier the laziness of some of our supposedly quality reporters and the clickbait nature of the rest of it is the annoyance. UK Football is comparatively probably in a better state than UK journalism.
This last sentence is very telling, and one of the reasons there are going to be so many rich clubs. Deadpool & Co have really highlighted how low the buy-in is for the EFL, and I think we are going to keep seeing clubs snapped up by Americans. I'd bet anything that Shrewsbury's exclusivity is for an American buyer.
Definitely on the right lines here, so if they get anywhere near the Prem how much do they become worth, how much would someone have to invest to satisfy the current owners and push them over the line? Could be a lot less than buying a club already in the Prem or NFL , and that's why people like Rob are still interested in Reading.
Wrexham have bought 2 promotions on the trot that's why i have no respect for them and i hope the Hollywood owners get bored and leave them in the shit.
Torquay are booming under new ownership, top of their league (level 6) and expecting well over 5000 for their top of the table clash against former groundsharers Truro - their biggest gate in years
the bad news…..
The weather down here is shite and the game is in doubt
Sorry, my friend. Although I dislike any team "buying promotion" be it Wrexham, Birmingham, or even Manchester City. I cannot hope they finish up the situation you want them to. Pains me to say so, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone including those from along the M4 or a certain nearby University City.
The amount of rain we’ve had, I’m surprised it’s only Wigan. The river Mersey has burst its banks down the road from me, which I’ve not seen before (and it always rains here!) - it’s properly soggy up north

Has to make a much better choice next time too. Plymouth at the bottom of the championship was always going to be a thankless task.

They talked about it on the docco...but surely being a yo-yo team suits the documentary.
Hopefully, we'll get two episodes (first obviously) and a season defining top of the table clash at Adams Park!

They definitely get the big hitters for sponsors - I just wonder if it is enough in an absolutely insane division.
I do want to say Wrexham fans themselves seem sound (even just looking at the forum). It's more just the "romantic" angle that is vomit inducing.
I didn't watch beyond the first episode - so to clarify, did they say being a yo-yo team is the plan?
Blooms 25/1 for job. Schumacher evens favourite.
Sorry Shev...no they discussed the eye watering costs that being in the Championship brings.
It was my opinion that being a yo-yo club would suit the excitement/jeopardy of the documentary.
Of course, they may decide to sell to a New Orleans lawyer keen to own a Championship club.

Yes, I’ve noticed this too. The imbalance in coverage is really annoying.
Ah cheers @Wendoverman and @StrongestTeam - it certainly sounds like even they themselves see the Champo as a kind of demarcation point.
Not everyone can have a Kazakh youth academy to fund their march to PL glory!
Wait until they sack Parky for the legend that is...

Would we turn down buying promotion I wonder?

Wigan's home game today cancelled due to local flooding around the stadium.
In other news - Robins appointed as Stoke manager - wonder how long he will last?

Mehmeti scores again. Wondering if we had a sell on percentage? With the form he's in, he's surely going to be getting admirers in the Premier League.
Would be unusual to have a sell on fee when a clause has been met?
Unless we've some extraordinary negotiators?
Hmmm, yeah that's true! Just wishful thinking!
You can have sell-ons in the clause, it’s not unusual at all.
Can you give some recent examples?
Would love there to be a massive sell on in there obviously!
Pretty sure the club said at the time we did have a sell on clause.
No reason why a release clause couldn't be you can have him if you pay £Xm plus a 20% sell on.
