Wrexham must be the luckiest team in the land ...of all the teams at the top, they are the ones that I least impressed with....just hoofball team and will eventually catch up with them
Having to listen to this commentator made defeat even more painful than it was. But in her defence, a lack of co-commentator and the fact she wasn’t even at the game made the job very difficult. As is the case with all Sky red button games.
And a few "Wycombe heads going down", which they really weren't - we were putting in until the final whistle, not a strong day, but the effort wasn't the issue.
I can't imagine there are huge amounts who watch these games who aren't a fan of either club, so surely they could tie up a deal with the competing clubs to use their commentators?
I like the sky coverage in general and having so many extra games under an existing package with Now tv is great, but it definitely doesn't work having the solo commentator. So yes I'd definitely go along with your idea.
Charlton played well and really pressed us to stop us playing once they’d got the lead.
I was disappointed that we chose today to play Bakinson in Morley’s position for the first half. It really didn’t work. Ultimately I think that cost us the game.
Rav was at fault for the second, he left himself in no man’s land. If he’s on the edge of his 6 yard box, it would significantly increase the chances of not conceding.
I didn’t think the Ref was that bad, he let quite a lot go the whole game. I thought Humphrey’s was fouled before their 2nd but he had let a number of those go already, so arguably he was consistent in that.
The run has come to an end and we’ve had quite a few poor games in December whilst not losing.
next few weeks will be interesting. If that’s the last we see of Morley and/or Taylor then thanks for the memories boys and all the best for the future!
I'm not sure he actually did need to come out, certainly not as far as he did. He was never going to get to the ball, and Leaburn was heading wide with Low in fast pursuit. If Franco was further back, Leaburn doesn't score with the initial shot. Hindsight of course...
I probably agree with you. I was quite suprised to watch him so far off his line.
I was watching on wwfc online .. Brian the co com suggested that Franco had to come out ... and I just kinda went with that as gospel.... but on reflection I feel he was poorly placed
Yep, we always want to see the best team every week, but imagine if we didn't rotate at all - even our good lads would be up in arms.
I'm intrigued how we go about the onslaught of games in early Jan.
Probably Kone, Fred straight back in for Exeter, benched at the weekend and fresh for Huddersfield.
Harvie probably IS someone that matches your fitness test - but can he play 4 games in 9 days? Probably wouldn't be best to. But how many changes can you make for a very winnable cup tie v Portsmouth?
Also let's not forget Udoh is a very good front man who can also bang them in.
The player I wouldn't have started today was McCleary - he's not been on fire in his recent substitute appearances. Playing Fred from the start might have been more productive. It would also have been a good game for Sadlier - we've been so spoilt for goals recently that it's easy to forget the brilliant link up play between Harvie and Sadlier before the latter was injured.
It's exactly the right approach from Matt. Had he picked the same side as Boxing Day and we lost you probably would have been bomoaning the fact that we hadn't rotated
When all is said and done, we're still an incredibly position one game off the halfway mark. We need to capitalise on that, and I sense we'll spend quite big in Jan - starting with Morley.

Or just pay the commentator mileage to attend the game and pay a club legend £200 a game to be a co-commentator.

You'd have thought so
Maybe he doesn't know himself so just wants to offer some kind of gesture if it does end up being his last appearance.
Agreed. Having a runner from midfield gave us something different. We missed that most of the game.

I'm irritated by today's result.... and I probably/definitely wouldn't be saying this if we had won.....
But.....
I get we have a great squad and we are doing well in the league because of rotation.....
But come on!!! What team dosnt start their most prolific goalscorer??
A team who have to play six big games in the space of 16 days.
Watching the goals back, Franco's positioning for the second was really poor.
Yep. He stays back and Leaburn has to beat Low and produce a worldy strike.
Easy in hindsight though, as long as he learns from it.
We have 4 games in 9days coming from Wednesday. You can't start him in every game.
Was it? He came out..... he kind of had to..... a flick over his head wherever he came out to would have made no difference.....
Part of me does however wonder if he may have been better scampering back and defending his goal line 🤔
Hindsight wondering though..

Why not?
Hes young and fit.
We always started devine, rammel, beavon, Hayes, mooney, mcgliesh ect no matter what if fit to play
Yes we could make him play 60 x 90min a season, but I'm not sure the quality would be there.
Rotation isn't just a gimmick.
I probably agree with you. I was quite suprised to watch him so far off his line.

Football has changed and is a lot more physically demanding.
I know I know.... as I said.. I'm just on one.
I'm not used to this losing nonsense 😕🤣🤔
I'm sure he was guided by the data, although it still feels like today's team should have played at Stevenage. But again, hindsight...

Worry about Wednesday first I dare say!
Is it though? For a striker? An out and out striker??
Yes kone gets back when needed to.... but still a striker should be up top waiting to receive a decent pass to attack the goal.
We have so many across our front line who can score and get back. Ie our wingers.. we only play one striker currently
It was definitely crazy positioning from Rav. Low gets back to either block the shot or ensure the striker is hitting it off balance.
Still might have gone in. But it's a much tougher chance.
Rav was far enough out of position that we called it at the time before the shot was taken. Watching the replay just confirms.
Bakinson's header on the first was also poor. Downwards and right toward their player.
Also let's not forget Udoh is a very good front man who can also bang them in.
