  • The thing is though, unless Bishop is still rehabbing, he seems to be a very clear 3rd choice.

  • It shows dependable and important Low is that when he makes a big mistake it tends to lead to a goal. Birmingham was another example.

  • The fan version I live by is "Enjoy the highs massively, put the lows in perspective."

  • I just wish that shot from GMagic had gone in - would have been an instant goal of the season contender, reminiscent of his trivella (is that the right word?) against Forest Green that year we had too many contenders for it to win.

  • I've never seen that before and was genuinely a bit scared.

  • “Josh Scowen is back on the grass” - Matt Bloomfield post-match today. Real shot in the arm news that!

  • And that's one of the gentler sketches in the show. I'm not joking.

  • According to the BFP, we made it 16 games unbeaten "despite" drawing. Uh...

  • Scowen is irreplaceable. Bakinson did ok but I’m not sure what his role is. He lost the ball a lot in the first half, second half he was key to that great 20 mins, got booked and had to be hooked before he was sent off. Very lucky not to be booked for a silly trip. Leahey can’t play the Scowen role. Humphreys and Morley are brilliant in their own roles. I’m surprised that Butcher hasn’t been used as the straightforward Scowen replacement.

  • Josh is the heartbeat of the team and with Morley and Humphreys, he makes the perfect three in midfield. Josh knows when to go forward and sniffs out danger when needed where other players don’t.

Yes Luke and as of today Bakinson can do a shift but they are not Josh, he is the MAN!!!!

  • Yep agreed. That three really does work well. Bakinson, Leahy and Butcher all have their own strengths, but are a tier below all of the main 3.

  • I thought that was a decent game. Clearly the weather was a huge factor. Both teams played better kicking into he wind. Seems a bit counter intuitive but I think it makes it hard to clear the ball as the flight is unpredictable and the momentum has been taken out of it by the time the clearing header makes contact. At the other end, lots of balls were caught in the breeze and went straight through to the keeper.

In such conditions it's hard to know what to make of it really. But it's a shame we couldn't get the second goal during that long spell of pressure after half time. Reading's last act defending was really good, with loads of well timed blocks inside the box.

Criticism of Rav seems harsh to me. He's been superb this season and recently made several brilliant saves to keep the current run going. His main attribute is his distribution though, which is excellent for a keeper at this level. I think it's been a key part of our success. He's comfortable receiving the ball, which always gives Low/Taylor a passing option inside. That is crucial as it makes it so much harder for teams to press us back into the corner. Likewise, his range of passing to both full backs, into feet to the pivot or over the top for our attackers is really vital. It's one of the reasons we've been able to mix up our pattern of play so effectively against different sides.

  • I thought a draw was a fair result, as much as it pains me to say that because of the Reading goons sat behind me chatting crap the whole game.

Again we could've won, just wasn't to be, I thought Gmacs effort was in... until it wasn't

Don't want to heap any negativity on Low for the goal, as he's been epic for us. But I'm afraid I'm another in the camp that doesn't have a lot of confidence in Rav, he's a great back up, but not a number 1

Rav's distro is definitely key and might be the thing that keeps him there. I sense Bishop is the better all-rounder, but if he's not even making the bench then is he realistically staying beyond the new year?

  • Did no one report these seemingly very obvious Reading fans to the stewards? Big failing by the club to allow them into a home section in the first place, mind you.

  • Agreed on Rav, I’m a fan. His passing is so good I reckon he could play the Morley role if we lose him in Jan.

  • The Reading fans were disgraceful today, we saw a gang of them trying to start trouble on the way into the ground. After the game there was a big group of Reading fans looking for trouble as they walked away from the ground. They, the Reading fans, proved to be a bunch of thugs.

Every club seems to have its share of idiots but Reading seem to have a larger percentage of idiots than most clubs at this level. What a shame when they have some real genuine fans such as @theRoyalBiscuit .

  • If people want to read at the football then good on em I say. Many fans at Fulham are allowed to peruse the Telegraph crossword. If you younguns spent more time reading over staring at your phones you would have a happier life.

  • One of the reasons I didn't go today. Their fans are just oafs.

  • I seem to remember even the irreplaceable Josh getting the odd booking or suspension and the occasional red card! Bakinson played well today was in amongst it all game and in those conditions a booking was an occupational hazard

  • It's tradition for us to go up with a terrible keeper isn't it? Must admit there were some shimmering Reading oafs on the way to the game that did cause me some concern about my walk back to Millbrook had we won. Reading were much sharper in the tackle today and were able to take advantage of any misplaced passes better than we were. Dorset did have Fred in his pocket so much so that I wondered if Fred and Lubala should have swopped around a bit to confound him. 3CR man was very impressed with us having 'not seen Wycombe play for a while'. I still thought we would do them at 1-1... and we almost did. Still top...all to play for! It us a disgrace that so many teams are playing the ref the 'Wycombe' way nowadays...gonna be interesting at The Meadow!

  • I think the keeping situation isn't as complex as we're making out.

Bishop is loaned as the first choice, and gets injured. We need a back up and they get in George.

Rav performs better than anyone expects and we haven't lost a league game since August, so there's no reason to drop him.

I think there is an argument now to drop Ravizolli, but George hasn't shown himself to be leaps ahead in his starts.

Bishop was training at Wealdstone though, so could be fit and ready to come back in

  • He seemed to be flagging at the end understandably. His booking was not a booking and then he tripped their player which should 100% have been a booking. The bench immediately called Leahey on as they could see he was going to get sent off.

I think he needs games. And he needs time to play with Morley and Humphreys to settle in. I would start him Saturday.
