2 yrs ago I wondered if Plymouth might crumble. They didn’t. And as @prufrock_91 points out, Portsmouth had a dodgy result and slightly rough patch whilst still marching to the title last year. After the very ‘out of character’ start, we dominated the game and without Kone and Fred getting in each other’s way the game would still have been ours.
exactly this as did Mansfield, this will be an all new phase of the season now. Teams are going to be happy to get a point against us and do to us what we did to teams for years, so we will go through a phase of learning and adapting, just got to find answers and keep the point tally ticking over.
If we can get 4 points every 3 games so around an average of 1.3 - 1.5 ppg that should get us into the play offs which is above what most people were expecting for the season. Just looked that takes us to 77/78 points and with that total we would miss out on play offs once in 5 years
Amazed how much negativity there is after taking only a point away at Exeter. We have been on an amazing record breaking run but did people think we could continue it for ever !!! We didn’t play particularly well but came back from two goals down to take a point, which shows real strength of character and quality.
This post sums it up perfectly for me. Anyone expecting us to win every game and play like champions every week is in for some disappointments in the coming months. In the opinion of most people Birmingham are hot favourites to win the title but you can still win promotion through the playoffs despite losing 10-12 games. With more than one third of the season completed we have lost just 2.
At the game last night it looked like we had a really decent penalty shout for a challenge on Hanlan but I can't see it mentioned here so I'm assuming it wasn't?

We (as fans) have to get our head around that teams are going to set up to stop us playing. Does not mean we are playing badly it means teams are not allowing us to play. They know if they do they will get slaughtered. Stockport probably had an arrogance thinking with their record they could go toe to toe with little Wycombe and that is what happened. Our goalscoring record remains incredible and teams now know they HAVE to stop us scoring as we WILL score. I am sure the brains trust will have sat on the coach last night and made tweaks but it is only tweaks and a little bit of coaching to adjust to this blanket defending we now face. Its certainly a new challenge for Wycombe fans.
Someone will try and play a more expansive game against us soon and will be on the receiving end. I do wonder if Reading will not want to be over defensive. Shrewsbury will certainly be a challenge.
All this with just about the longest injury list I can remember.
think we will be in a holding pattern now till late feb march time where teams will look at it as a decent point then the table will have fully taken shape and teams then need wins, so just got to keep accumulating points till then.

Considering 11 in a row. A good result away from home on a Tuesday against a side with one of the best defensive records. We score two, take a point on the road, and extend an unbeaten run which stretches back to August in the LG.
Sloppy first half. Second half first 15 mins Exeters game plan backfired. Playing some good football in their half 👏 topped off by a plum finish by Suffolk Messi.
Then sadly home the team got a firework up their arse... and realised they couldn't sit back....
Harsh on leahy, and madness to compare him to scowen/Morley.... completely different players. Harsh again on Bakinson due to limited game time, and same with Butch after how he played second half last season.
You don't become a bad player in six months when you bring in three new CMs who may just be better players.
A point away at Exeter midweek has to go down as a decent enough result, especially in the circumstances of going 2-0 down.
As an aside though looking at the substitutes, fine players all, when we went 2-0 down I realised that probably none were an improvement on who we had on the pitch at the time (which says a lot to me about Pattenden’s progress).
Agree with most of the above, last night was a good point. We started poorly and collectively had a bit of an off night. The front 3 in particular were below par. Last week against Mansfield, I'd give their defence huge credit for keeping them quiet, whilst last night, I felt we got into several promising positions, but slack play or a poor final ball meant that we didn't make the most of it.
No problem though, that happens and I'm sure will happen again, you can't play well every match. What is promising, is that we still came from 2 down to gain a deserved point against decent opposition away from home. Got to be happy with that.
I don't disagree with the general sentiment here around teams stopping us playing, however, last night Exeter did to us in the first 15 minutes what we did to Stockport. They were absolutely magnificent and thoroughly deserved the two goal lead. We couldn't cope with their press, pace and movement.
Once we'd worked that out a bit better and how to counteract their inverted fullbacks and willingness to push players forward we were the better team. I'd be very surprised if anyone else plays that well against us in the first 15 minutes of a game again this season.
On the penalty shout, I thought it was one at the time but being at the match didn't have a replay or ability to look at it again.
Their goals were gifts. Both created by exploiting Rav's weakness on crosses. We were fast asleep for the first with Pattenden failing to close effectively. A rare mistake from him and one that happens. As others have said the mentality of this team is special. 2-0 so early and yet I am still saying to Mrs Andy Graham Fan Club 'it's fine, we've got this'.
Rav definitely isn't great from crosses (although I'm not convinced he was massively at fault for either goal last night - perhaps more the second, having watched them back), but the team has to set up to combat that - much like we did with Allsop, who was forever rooted to his line. Rav's excellent distribution is more important, although it's got to only be a matter of time before Bishop comes back in - he's the best all-round GK at the club.
Whilst I don't disagree with any of what you have said really - how do we know Bishop is the best keeper at the club? He's not played a full season in three years, and that was in league two. Since the league two playoff final in 2022 he's played three league games, two of which were for us and he conceded three in each of them (I am not saying he was at fault for conceding 6 goals). There's not a body of work there that suggests he's brilliant. Happy to be proven wrong though!
You're right, it's a small sample size I'm basing it on, but I saw enough from him in those opening two games. I still think it would take a fairly monumental cock-up from Rav for Blooms to make that call.
To quote someone earlier in the season to have to score three goals to win a match is mad! Good away point that I think and shows a bit of grit and determination. I still tip Brum and Deadpool to go up but we are giving it a good go!

Nice touch, have to say, staff and fans, one of whom said “safe journey back” as I passed him in the car park after noticing I was a Wycombe fan, were excellent. All friendly and helpful.
@eric_plant On that "penalty" incident, they didn't show a replay last night, but it's on the extended highlights, with a number of replays. It looks a penalty and I, like others, am surprised that the Wycombe players didn't protest more. Was a great run from an unpromising position by Brandon, too.
On the question about Franco, we have 2 other capable keepers at the club now. It seems unfair if everybody else is under pressure for their place, but he's exempt.

On the Exeter City Web forum it is confirmed by at least four separate posters that it was a stonewall penalty.

We’ve scored 38 goals in 17 league games. It’s mind blowing stuff. Even the top Premier League sides aren’t averaging >2gpg
