What on earth are we experiencing here?, as the goals went in I was leaping on of my chair like a demon possessed. Thanks Phill for the superb commentary on Wanderers TV. However this season concludes the ride will have been great. There will be bad days, that is football, that is life.
Today felt another significant step forward. Beating a tough at home playoff contender, but also because it's the first time we're top of the league even if others win a game in hand.
It was an own goal, but our second at home to Peterborough in Oct 2019 (the 3-3 with 10 men) came from an incredible passing move that was very un-Ainsworth.
Do it, mate... I used to do that kind of thing when I was younger, and i want to now, but can't. Don't miss out, this could be like the early 90s, except better...!
I remember him missing v Luton at home many years ago (after scoring one already in that game) and at Burton away at the end of the season Blooms took over. He also missed one at Fleetwood in those playoff semis. I can't recall the other 4 misses off the top of my head though
Looks like today was statistically our most creative performance of the season. We really are taking it to teams home and away and playing some insanely good stuff. You just knew that move (for 1-2) was going to end in a goal.
I’ve just watched the extended highlights and they didn’t have Phil on commentary, so I’m guessing it’s the sky commentary, whoever it is they sound exactly the Motty not just the inflection but his turn of phrase no criticism from me as I was a fan of the guy and it’s nice to hear someone so similar.
When I look at the current league table it is always 7th place that I check first because if we finish higher than that we’re in the playoffs at least. We are currently nine points above that position with games in hand and a superior goal difference. I realise that there are 32 games remaining so a lot can change, but we would need a catastrophic collapse and a phenomenal surge by other teams to lose our place in the top six. We’re in a very strong position.
Still buzzing after yesterday but now is where the football gods will decide our fate. If we keep the whole squad 100% fit every game of the season (never gonna happen of course) we will be competitive at the top of the table. Losing key players and how many we lose at the same time will be where we stumble. When we went up to the Championship we were incredibly fortunate with injuries to key players.

Sorry hoofball
He's done what?
ahhh!!!!
He's changed the footballs until he's found one that worked.
(That brief period when he was using American footballs probably explains Leyton Orient away)
My mistake. It’s 9…
Not enough 😁.
I have watched that second goal about 30 times now and it seems to get better every time. What a goal 👍.
Football at it's best
Seriously, what a run. May I also say what a brilliant job you did today @bluntphil , so polished and great entertainment throughout. Thank you.

So my mate sent me this
So on the Opta stats we are now 48% to win the league - Birmingham are 45%. A month ago it was 6% and 88% respectively.
I have no idea what that stat means, all I know is we look fucking incredible at times and I may be in love with Harvie.

it means we are going up and replacing Oxford, QPR and Rooney on the way.
(I may have read too much into that stat)
Anyone else re-watching that second goal on repeat? To my mind the best team goal Wycombe have scored since Dave Carroll in the 1994 play-off final.

(Pins on medals. Puffs on pipe) I was behind the goal for Carroll's masterpiece and today's goal was better. (chokes on pipe)
Though he still wins the indidual prize while today was the collective effort.

Do it (better)
Not really. If it had gone in, we wouldn't have had to bother with the playoffs v Fleetwood and Oxford that year

Have a look at this prediction for the end of the season and have a small chuckle:

Just remembered he missed one at Oxford away, when we lost 2-1 on the last minute in 2019
I remember that moment far more often than is needed or wanted. The feeling coming out of Portman Road that night would have been something else.

I think we'd all take a 17 point margin to 3rd.
I remember he had one saved in the Carlisle Marcus Bean game
Some quite incredible stats here from the Gasman.
