Everything feels right this season. A fantastic blend of the heritage and identity of the last fifteen years mixed with a new wave of data and unwavering squad depth. It’s beginning to feel like the beginning of something special.
Great that Sam Grace received great plaudits for the work he was doing and how he will play an important role going forward. Fully deserved. Short and pretty dismissive answer to the Scott Mitchell question. We’re data led. The end.
I’m fairly sure that was, if not explicitly said, should have been something that was happening reading between the lines, wasn’t it?
The first season we dropped out the championship the Couhigs gambled on going straight back up - which didn’t happen - so if we are honest with ourselves, last season was always going to be a cut, comparatively
Reading between the lines. Cam is 100% staying. Taylor is probable. Morley is the one he’s less confident on. Taylor’s was supposed to be a season-long development loan. The only thing that could see it cut short would be Baggies 1st team injury issues.
My take away from last night is that we have some extremely talented people running our club, and they will deliver something transforming for our club.
I agree all the talk was about development and academy but that's it isn't it? How can our club thrive without growing (and selling) young players? We cannot compete using revenue at the gate. I'm thrilled that Sam Grace is recognised for his work and is being placed front and centre into the future vision. Great stat that this season 12% of playing minutes came from our own developed players, and this is considered an enviable number.
I wish more people could see what is going on at our club. Old duffers like me can see a future that includes me and new people should be able to see something exciting and shiny is happening. We just need them to see what we see.
It was also great to see Jack and Matt so central to the vision and so aligned with what is going on. We should never forget what good people we have at this club (top to bottom) and have done since Ainsworth put his identity on the squad.
The short and medium term outlook for the club we love is both optimistic and exciting. As for the long-term (post the current ownership), I am more than happy to let that take care of itself...

Pure waffle about home attendances.
But on the other hand....KONE

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas......
@mooneyman if he’s wanked himself to to death then blindness is irrelevant!!
Was anything mentioned about Nathan Bishop?

doubt that’s even possible, because if it was I wouldn’t have made it past 16.
How have Dan and Blooms been with each other? Grinding their teeth as the other speaks? Arms wrapped around each other joyfully?
Fantastic evening. Four extremely articulate guests and Phil nailing his duties as always.
What is there not to be excited about.
Spread the word people
Like Partridge and Sidekick Simon. Bonhomie on the surface, undertones of wariness when one thinks the other is getting the upper hand.
Ought to add that I didn’t watch it and wasn’t there.
Came here buoyed by the Kone contract extension news.
tickled pink by this bit of gas room gold. Never change.
This is what we should really be thanking @drcongo for

So... what was said ? Sorry to have to ask. Not expecting an essay, but the few main points would be appreciated
Let's just say Kone's not the only one with an extension.
Last seen being bashed by @Kim_il_Swan
Did anyone ask about the retention of Morley, Taylor and Humphreys beyond January?
Bloomfield said he was hopeful of keeping them but couldn’t guarantee.
What's happened to that lad from the development squad. Double barrelled name. Trouser-snake or summat?
So, if I’ve understood their posts, @Kim_il_Swan no longer (pun unintended) has a micro and @TheDancingYak is tickling his pink.
We play in blue for a reason @micra

Sounds like a good session.
Morley would be a very big loss.

I was trying to work that stat out, as initially between Skura and Pattenden I couldn't see how it could be anywhere near 12% of the minutes.
But I realise I was missing out Scowen who was one of the original grand crop.
This. 100%.

So Kone not going...(unless someone offers 5 million or something), which allows us to concentrate on obsessing about the loanees being recalled.😉
All sounds positive. Exciting times.
Given once again, the previous budget cut (allegedly by 30%) Blooms results should be seen in context.
Blooms and his team have done an amazing job and we're very lucky to have him as hopefully the new Owners can now see.
