  • Gillingham 31 - just a couple of miles closer than Pukka Pie

  • Yes, pedantic point of order here too Dev. The Birmingham region should really be changed to West Midlands. WBA, Wolves, Walsall and the Ainsworth's new boys would not be best pleased at being considered Brummies. Coventry should come under this region also.

  • Picture yourself as a bulwark that first wall between good and evil.

  • Newport county 54

    Cardiff city 67

    Swansea 104

  • Thursday morning update.

Thanks to those who have taken Cardiff and Swansea overnight. Only Lincoln not claimed, so I have decided to cheat slightly. Lincoln is somewhat further south than I realised and it appears nearest club is Mansfield (35 miles away). @arnos_grove is 10 miles from Mansfield so can't be any more than 45 miles from Lincoln (he may even be nearer. I have recorded that score (hope that is OK with him.

I take fully on board my geographical failings but honestly don't have the energy to change them! Sorry.

Our total now we have 92 clubs claimed is 2148 miles, so work to be done if we are to get this below 1000 by Wednesday. I remain optimistic however. There are big gains to be had. For example if we could find someone living in Newcastle I reckon that would reduce our total by around 270 miles in one swoop. Other big gains dotted around, especially far North West, Bristol/South Wales and surprisingly South Coast.

I have sorted table to show the biggest scoring teams first. Do you live, or know a Chairboys fan you could persuade to sign up, nearer than any of these.

  • If someone wants to buy me a house in the Lake District that would significantly reduce the mileage to Carlisle and Barrow (and Newcastle and Sunderland as a bonus.)

  • Could send Che back north??

  • I am feeling a little lonely up here in the People's Republic of South Yorkshire, but i can shave a few miles off Lincoln City - 35.3 miles

  • Harrogate town 8 mile

    Leeds united 15 mile

    Bradford City 22 mile

  • Thanks @Wetherby_blue

I suspect you may also be able to take some miles off of Newcastle, Sunderland and Miidlesbrough?

  • Middlesbrough 52

    Sunderland 76

    Newcastle 82

  • Pretty sure this is all heading towards a thousand people sleeping on your sofa for nearby games.

  • Mansfield to Lincoln showing 32 miles (@bookertease) and Doncaster to Lincoln showing 36miles (@arnos_grove) but I realise grounds and dwellings could be on the wrong side of town.

I'll have a word with someone tonight who can reduce the Cambridge mileage and probably the Colchester mileage - about the latter they won't be happy.

  • @BrianJeeves68 may be able to reduce the Col U and Southend

not if the rest of our families have anything to do with it it's not!

  • I incorrectly thought Franchise had been excluded. Sadly, for me, I can bring that down to 5 miles.

  • Thursday night update.

Some progress made with every chance of dipping below the 2000 barrier perhaps this evening??

Surely we can make an inroad on Ipswich and Colchester for example - (could Matt B join the gasroom??)

  • Surely we should allow one joker card?

    Matt Bloomfield’s residence should count!

He’s 14 miles from Ipswich Town and 26 miles to Colchester…

I’m sure he reads the Gasroom 🤣

  • @Canaryblue is 7.2 miles from Norwich City…am going to Barrow with him tomorrow! He reads a bit but doesn’t post much!

  • Actually, quite famously he stopped reading all forms of social media a while back when he was still playing because of the abuse he was receiving

  • I can neither confirm nor deny whether Matt Bloomfield does or does not have an account on the gasroom.

  • In his interview in the Caledonian after the Orient game, Matt mentioned the chatter about Dan Udoh's goal at Burton, and a photo of it on social media. I wasn't clear if he was referring to the Gasroom or, perhaps, Facebook.

  • I can shave 2 miles off the route to Port Vale - now 28 miles for me

  • Limited progress overnight although possible candidates for improvement identified.

Big thanks to @PJS who has seemingly not only moved home but moved his home nearer to Burslem showing an apparent level of commitment to the cause seemingly sadly lacking amongst other posters…..

  • No further improvement today. Hopefully some progress over weekend.

  • Oh come on @DevC, give us some slack. It's a Friday night, we are all on the lash.

(For the pedants, I know it is Saturday morning now but that would not have sounded as good)

  • Will take Huddersfield off @manchesterchairboy 's hands as he has enough on his plate (6 miles)

  • Been trying to think which team this thread reminds me of. Came to me in the night - Billingham Synthonia
