I'm 11.3 miles from franchise, one more than you, but 9.1 miles via the cycle path. Happy to share the pain, if that's allowed. I can reduce Northampton slightly to 26 miles.
Blame Google maps, now when there is no traffic I get:-
Coventry down to 39.3, West Brom down to 39.2, and Villa down to 34.5, Birmingham down to 31.7, Cheltenham down to 15.6. Next time I must remember to do the checking after midnight when the traffic has gone down.
Mind you, as someone who visits varying different places around Birmingham in evenings, sometimes it is better to go the extra tens of miles just to avoid the traffic.
More progress overnight. We are now down to just three clubs left unclaimed , Cardiff, Swansea and Lincoln
Our overall mileage is still quite high at 2016 (plus whatever those three clubs deliver) but still opportunities to reduce significantly hopefully getting down to our automatic promotion target of less than 1000 by closing date next Wednesday.
Is there someone living in the Stoke area who can reduce Stoke, Port Vale and Shrewsbury from the current 30+ range
We need an East Anglian dweller to reduce some or all of Ipswich (55) Peterborough (36) and Colchester (49). Is @davecz nearer to any of these.
In the midlands, Coventry, Burton and Northampton all lurk around the 20 mark
Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough are killing us at between 75 and 100. One person say at Newcastle or Durham Uni could make a massive difference. Carlisle an d Barrow also massive scores.
Fleetwood, Morecambe and Blackpool all scoring 40+, one person could clear those down surely.
Do we really not have anyone living on the South Coast - big opportunities there
Perhaps @YorkshireBlue living on the edge of Leeds could also help us with Bradford and some of the other Yorkshire teams
And we really need a Bristol and/or Cardiff dweller to reduce these numbers (I am "only" 75 miles from Swan sea as crow flies but 180 odd by road!!)
Its going to take some work but still optimistic we can do this.
I have a friend who supports Wycombe who lives 0.9 miles from Bristol Rovers, and 4.1 miles from Bristol City. I stay with him whenever we play Rovers away. Unfortunately he's not on the Gasroom though
I'm unable to improve the list due to a residency in the chair town. But, I now know what diaspora means. Although, I'm sure I once owned a pair of their football boots.
Comments
Newport County 75 miles, fills a gap, sort of.
I'm 48 miles from Bournemouth, reduces it a bit.
Someone must live closer to the franchise than me? It’s making me unwell being the nearest to both them and Luton.
I suspect at least one of the London-based posters is closer than 37 miles to Gillingham
🤣
Will throw my hat in the ring with 6.4 miles from the London Stadium which I have no doubt can be beaten.
I can reduce Gillingham down to 33.2 miles too.
I can take Northampton off your hands 19.8 miles
But you’re 2 miles closer to the franchise and I’m nowhere near Luton .
Cheltenham 9.2 miles
I’m also 30 miles from Crewe which is a whole 1 mile closer than the current holder
Is there a Gasroomer who could perhaps reduce Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford? Must be someone sitting between the three of those.
Also, got to be someone in South Wales and the West Country to help a bit more.
Doesn't @robin live out West?
Some sort of Leeds Exile perhaps? @LX1
Leeds 5 miles
Leyton Orient - 1
West Ham - 3.2
Oddest scoreline ever.

Crystal Palace 3.5 miles
Bromley 5 miles

Could you have a little chat and encourage him to join?

Bradford 14. Harrogate 18. approx.
Limited progress today.
Still many gaps to fill
Newport 61 miles
Cardiff 83 miles
Swansea 113 miles
Not local but maybe closest
Given it’s 30 miles from Notts County to Chesterfield I think there’s a small saving available there
I’m 14 miles from Northampton.
Very happy to see you’ve not included the other “club” I live far too close to for my liking.
I used to live about 100 yards away from Sincil Bank but that was many years ago now.
Why are Oxford in the London region of this table btw? I haven't suddenly become a Londoner I don't think!
I can get Chesterfield down to 24 miles.
