I saw an entertaining game at Winslow where Jake Tabor was not in the Amersham squad. Both teams were under strength. An even first half saw the Magpies take the lead on 40', when keeper Alfie Mumford miscontrolled the ball under pressure, on the edge of the area, and Louis Bircham ended up passing into an empty net. Mumford had made a superb save from a free kick just before that.
Ten minutes after the break the Ploughmen conceded a penalty, and had Jamie Andrews sent off for a last man push on Richard Pacquette. You may remember him scoring the opener at Anfield for Havant & Waterlooville, he is 41 now. Mumford saved the Bircham kick with a great save, low down by the post. That galvanised Winslow as they then controlled play, their pacy forward line causing lots of problems for Amersham, who sat back. Despite some good chances, Winslow couldn't get the ball in the net for a deserved draw and penalties.
Amersham have a very attractive tie at home to Chesham in the next round, they will need Tabor for that one.
Note who Winslow regard as their dream draw, and not their near neighbours.
Being geographically close to Milton Keynes it is most likely a sly pop at the franchise interlopers. After all there is ‘only one (league) team in Bucks’.
Amersham v Chesham would be a corker of a game, the winners of that away would not be bad. But I'd prefer Penn & Tylers (walkable from home) or Milton United (not been since 2014) away
Tonight, in the last Second Round match, Windsor & Eton won 4-0 at Wallingford & Crowmarsh. HT 0-1, Pawal Kowalkowski scored a second half hat-trick. The Royalists host Aylesbury United in the next round.
In the Third Round tonight, Flackwell Heath came from behind to win 3-1 at Didcot Town, with goals from Wiktor Makowski (2) and Eddie Lee. Half-time 1-1, attendance 116.
Chesham United's visit to Amersham Town in the Berks & Bucks Cup on Tuesday will be the first competitive match between the 2 clubs at Spratley's Meadow for 62 years. Local football (including Wycombe Wanderers) really on the up at the moment.

But why would Winslow dream of a final against Aylesbury @Steve_Peart?
😄 - I think that is quite a compliment from Winslow.
Being geographically close to Milton Keynes it is most likely a sly pop at the franchise interlopers. After all there is ‘only one (league) team in Bucks’.
Amersham Town v Chesham United should attract 500+ to Spratley's Meadow for the first time in many years!
Richard Pacquette came on as a sub during our famous 1-0 win over QPR in 2001. Glorious that he’s still playing.

One more round to knock the non league teams down from 10 to 5 before the league clubs enter in the quarter finals.
A handy chart showing how the B & B clubs, men and women, fit into the National pyramid.

Fourth Round draw has been made.
Aylesbury Dynamo's what?
Never mind the grocer's apostrophe, I keep thinking it should be Dynamoes.
Or even Aylesbury Vale Diamonds.
shurely sponsored by dominoes
