By the way, I do find it the sacking a little uncomfortable and ‘un-Wycombe.’
What it does do is reinforce the message that we are going to do things in a way that the owner (or their representatives) want to do things to achieve their academy vision.
What it doesn’t do is say anything meaningful about the capabilities or character of any of the individuals involved.
I’m just not naive to think things weren’t going to change especially when they have immediately come in and stated the future plans and that they would have wanted to put their own people in. Yes that may mean the manger too if things go bad, which they aren’t currently. I also don’t think there’s nothing nefarious in it happening - it’s pretty standard business as usual for new owners of any business coming in.
That in itself doesn’t make it good or bad news. And it doesn’t need me to throw in random speculation, personal feelings or just straight up guesses as to what’s going on because, as Occam’s razor says, “more assumptions you have to make, the more unlikely an explanation”
This is just a normal, fairly understandable process any company or association goes through after a period of assessing what they have inherited.
I haven’t made my mind up about them yet. There’s things I have seen I like (the passion and action on a new academy, backing the manager with signings they could have veto’d) and things I don’t like (not hearing from ML and if Harlington is actually the sensible location because of potential Heathrow extension)
One person leaving the club - however good or bad he is - hasn’t registered for me. It’s just something that happens (rightly or wrongly) when new owners come in.
I actually found the naming of Dobbo also fairly telling. He is obviously on his radar in one sense or another - I don’t think he needed to mention him by name, but mention him he did.
Could I be reading more into that because of his previous connection and work carried out - quite possibly. I’d love him back in some capacity.
Why don't you like hearing from ML? He is a very busy entrepreneur who probably can't find the time to have a chat with Mr Yak. What do you expect him to say?
The club is owned by his company and he has appointed three Directors (including himself) one of which we regularly hear from with the Club's plans. If for example you have a gas contract with British Gas you don't expect the Chief Executive to be personally in regular contact with you.
The chief exec of British Gas parent company can and will send out periodic letters or communications to its customers. Even if it’s to address complaints.
I don’t expect comms the level Rob did and certainly not those of Pete. I don’t expect him to talk to me directly.
I do find it odd he hasn’t taken the time to say, even the basic “Hi, this is me, this is what we want to do, this is the team I’m putting in place to do that”.
It’s just radio silence. That might be comforting to you. I wonder if he actually cares about any of us or the club and if it’s just a means to an end that hasn’t been communicated yet. Or whether Dan himself if privy to what ML is actually thinking long term - I mean that last point is a bit conspiracy theory, true. We know what Dan wants to do given the brief he’s apparently had. But that’s not to say he can’t suddenly find his hands tidied and the money not flowing.
For me No comms = a certain amount of no scrutiny and Dan becomes a fall guy.
That's a track off the Toy Data Project EP from a young lad from Cornwall called The Aphex Twin. We'll be hearing a lot more from him in the future I'm sure you'll agree.
The key to effective delivery of change is communication.
Whilst Dan has been reasonable at being present & communicating to the supporters, as others have observed ML has so far failed to make any communication to us; perhaps he doesn't care, perhaps the nonsense from Culper is the focus of his attention, perhaps other Kapsi transactions are taking precedent, perhaps he is trying ot figure out how to avoid the fallout from Russian sanctions or the sanctimonius attitudes of western media & politicians; I am not sure I care, but if he wants not only the Trust, but also us fans 7 the wider community to "buy-in" to his changes he needs to say something...
Why does ML "need to say something" He's got his fellow Directors to do that. I'm not sure what you mean by the fans "buying in" to any changes ML makes.
As long as the end product is us having a club to support (which was in doubt pre Couhig), debts being paid promptly and a squad playing at League 1 or above level, I personally don't care if I never hear or see ML.
We didn't benefit much from regular statements and appearances from "don't worry about the money" Steve Hayes dud we!
With all due respect until this thread I didn’t know of the guys existence. I’m sure we have lots of behind the scenes guys who do great jobs and will move on to do other things. I don’t expect to be told.
Why on earth can’t we just enjoy the wonderful football our team are playing right now?
We have an owner who is funding the best squad we have put together for many years and who is investing in the future, yet some people want to look for problems.
I think the only line which can be crossed (and to be fair, was crossed earlier in this thread) is personal abuse. Aside from that, I actually come on here because I like to read different points of view and fulfill the first part of 'discussion forum'.
A friend and I were discussing the positive v negative aspect of discussions - in other words, matchday threads tend to be longer after a defeat. We came to the conclusion that when things are going well, in some ways there is less to say, whereas when things go badly there is more speculation to be had on how to fix it.
Either way, as long as no-one is getting abused, discussion and speculation is quite fun.
Regarding Dobbo, he definitely wants to come back, so I am wondering if it is just a case of waiting until the academy project is big enough to offer him a role? Or if we are reading too much into it in the first place?
It's definitely weird him being cited by name while MB is just 'the manager', but hey ho. Blooms is taking the very admirable road of being currently unsackable because he is soon almost certain to be the Manager of the Month for L1. Keep it up Blooms!
@mooneyman I personally care little or nothing if Lomtadze engages with fans etc. going forward, I do however think it would have been the right thing to do to issue a statement of intent to set the scene when he completed the deal with Couhig to acquire us.
I am happy with the level of communication we have seen from Dan Rice since his introduction to the club.
I assume all those worried will be at the fans forum. At the trust meeting Dan Rice was very composed and very forthright. So I encourage all fans that can get along to see the whites of his eyes. I was more assured after the trust meeting so hope others can be too.
Maybe that the issue im stuck in the zone of that doesnt feel very wycombe but i do believe in keeping people doing good jobs. These lot have enough money to throw at it to make me forget my worries pretty quick (if it brings success)
What more is he supposed to tell us? Who is going to play left-back?
I have to say, I'm loving the silence, with the odd professional remark by Dan Rice. Beats Couhig's seeming need to mouth off regularly and upset some quarter of our fan-base or somebody else's.
As I have said before, go to the fan's forum and ask questions. Dan was very honest in the trust meeting but you are right he is a businessman running a business (his business) and will tell you what he can. I also loved Rob's passion but often his desires and deliverables were different - but always well intentioned. This is different now.

Seems like you will just side with whatever the owners say due to association and that is fine, I will choose to let actions speak louder than words
I disagree. I do like a good (or even totally bonkers) conspiracy theory to pass the time
By the way, I do find it the sacking a little uncomfortable and ‘un-Wycombe.’

Is there a press release about his sacking?
One of the worst threads in Gasroom history, this
What we need is Richard Dobson back.
To re-build WWFC's academy to where it was before Trust made thew worst decision in the club's history.
As Jeremy Sauer said in his interview, we used to have a cracking youth set up.
Apologies to Eric.
Not at all.

Mr Carrots is never happier than casting aspersions about whoever is running the club.
Even when who is running the club has changed totally.
Since Bloomball entered the conversation it's certainly hit a low you don't often see on here.
The speculation and gossip is right in the gutter.

Because it would be disingenuous. Why would a billionaire be interested in Wycombe fans’ views? We are his toy data project.
I didn’t say he needed to listen to us. In fact I rather suggest he shouldn’t listen to any of us. I said there should be some communication to us.
I see no good reason why he hasn’t done the basic “hi” press release. Too busy is a shit excuse tbh.

If I were Lommy I'd post a picture of myself pointing to second place in the league table with the caption 'Any Questions?'
(I fucking love posting pictures with captions)
The football is looking really good, so it's basic gasroom behaviour to try and find a problem with something else.
Why does ML "need to say something" He's got his fellow Directors to do that. I'm not sure what you mean by the fans "buying in" to any changes ML makes.

Looking forward to us announcing Wazza as our new manager in a few weeks. How much is his release fee from Plymouth??

@Erroll_Sims - surely he did just that. I can't find the original on the web, but it's as set out here by the BFP:

Think the forum is for season ticket holders only?
