It has been reported in the past that the club saw little. if any. of the Olise sell on fee. But as I have said before, no one can believe what they read in this saga, as the truth is only known by very few people and they are saying nothing. leaving us supporters wondering what is going on.
The stadium ownership and other bits lead this way, if they were to hit administration it might be different but I think he's been allowed to be a bit cleverer/ more devious than that and just keep them afloat, club might be insolvent, riddled with debt and worth feck all but he can hold out a sale for someone wants to buy the stadium for a decent amount.
Maybe others also realise Robs plan and think they can do the same or better.
Good luck to them if it actually happens, wouldn't put any money on it. Also wouldn't have lent them any so limited sympathy for Rob if he gets burned.
The sell on fee for Olise if correct was 10% of £60M, less the £8M he was sold for, so £5.2M.
It looks like Reading have no money again and we are back at square one if this article is correct.
Over the summer they would have needed more cash, now we are in to the season I suspect they need around £1.2M per month just to keep the administrators at bay, over and above income.
None of the articles flying around this morning seem to suggest that a "bigger bid" has come in. They're all suggesting that the period of exclusivity is over, Couhig has pulled out and (in some places) it's being reported he's already had his loans repaid. What an absolute mess.
Couldn't be a possible worse start to the post-playing career for JJ either to be strung along for so long. I wonder if he wishes he'd taken a playing contact in the National League over the Summer instead.
It could work to Wing's advantage if he doesn't get paid. He would be able to cancel his Contract, get out of that hell hole and get a substantial signing on fee at a proper club.
Administration would be the best option. I understand the current owner will always be the bad boy but he has bankrolled this mad operation for a long time now so getting fixated on him is like shouting at Mastercard when the bill arrives. They have spent the money on wages and the academy. The culture at Reading, as the discipline record shows, is toxic in the boardroom and until there is a complete reset I can't see them moving forward.
Personally I am pleased about today's announcement. Rob was a great cheerleader for us and his enthusiasm was infectious (although worthy of the occasional eye roll). I didn't want him to take his magical, and it was magical, experience with us to Reading and take a financial and emotional beating on the basis that all football must be the same in England.
I hope he heads off to his porch and enjoys many a Republican fundraising evening whilst checking his phone for the Wyc results.
After the last game he played for us (he was brilliant right at the end) she was heard to say when asked if Lewis would re-sign standing outside the Woodlands Suite “see you in The Championship” and flounced off giving a passable impression of a lower league Wag (he would have stayed but seems ‘pussy whipped’ - not my choice of words).
She has posted stuff on X in the past which suggest she calls the shots on his career- not always from a position of profession know how.
Dai has always put in (or managed to convince others to put in) just enough to keep them afloat. If the new guy isn't the dream ticket and the EFL/HMRC don't step in he could in theory drag it out for longer, all sounds a bit pointless and expensive.
If Rob has actually been paid back maybe that suggests some new money is around

The article quotes Christmas as the next crisis point. And of course you don't know how much the current owner pocketed from the transfer windfall.

Or Mrs Yongge!
plot twist!
Apparently Rob has pulled out and a bigger bid has been received.
Is this for real or innuendo?
It seems real. That’s a waste of 4 months of JJ’s life. Hopefully he’ll find an actual role soon.

From Sue Cook.
(Obscure Alan Partridge reference there)
I wonder if Bearwood will be on the market again for a quick sale?
Rob had loaned in excess of £5M.

Admin looms next month.
It’s Lewis Wing I feel sorry for.

What's that about his wife?

This is the same Lewis Wing who said over the Summer that he'd like to end his career at Reading. Look forward to seeing him in non league.
Can’t help wondering if that was Gareth’s route back into management too.
Sad to see such a mess.

Awkward purple turtle

I wonder how much Rob's DING jacket is going to go for on ebay?
It’s almost enough to make you feel sorry for them.
Almost.
He has got to be regretting that Reading tv pass now

Rob walking away from this misadventure debt free is about as much as he could hope for.
Does this mean JJ has left his position as well or is he being left on his own with a sinking ship of a club?
I’m not sure he even had a position but was just hoping it would all fall into place.
He never had a position.
I thought he was hired after Bowen had been suspended by the FA and fired from his position
