Pleased to have Kodua back. Exactly the sort of attributes we’re missing out wide. Let’s hope he kicks on a bit more this season. What a place for him to do so.
Think he's got a a big season ahead of him, last year's loan would of been valuable exposure to being a proper professional footballer. Took me by surprise that didn't think it was on the cards
Nigel Lonwijk played for Wolves U21 today against Arsenal U21. Wolves lost 3-1 and big Nige was replaced after 46 mins. Not clear if he was replaced due to injury.
If the rumours about us at least trying to get Potts back are true (though supposedly we will lose out to Portsmouth) at least it shows we are trying, and may be doing the same with Lonny - though I don't see it happening.
This is not too knock it in any way but I'm slightly flummoxed about why everyone is so delighted to have Kodua back. He didn't really get much of an opportunity to show what he can do and I can't remember any particular moment that stood out (other than his goal for West Ham against us). Is it just because it keeps the link with West Ham alive? Or did others see stuff in him that I don't think I did?
The two or three people on here who have commented on his return have been positive. Delighted might be stretching it a bit. On Facebook, there has been little positivity, I’m afraid.
Your comment about him having had limited opportunities last season to show what he can do is entirely pertinent and, knowing now rather more about his background and his achievements at youth level (see the video to which I provided a link earlier), I would be surprised if we don’t see a significant step up this season in the level of performance that he brings to the party.
Potts didn’t feature in West Ham’s PL2 victory against Southampton last night. Maybe he actually is on the move. The match is available to watch on YouTube if somebody wants to go and choose our next loanee.
Cannot see Potts coming as we’ve already brought in two midfield loanees to supplement the existing group of central midfielders of Scowen, Leahy, Butcher and Bakinson. I still think we need a No 10 and a centre half in the last few days of the transfer window. Assume with the latest additions, Young and Ward to go out on loan.
I think it was Blackpool away where he was excellent and terrorised their defence. Given longer than his so far limited appearances as a substitute I think we’ll see a much improved player with the elusive quality of real pace.
We have some proper muppets in our travelling support these days.
At Wrexham I had people writing off Kone, Leahy and our new lads after just 15 minutes. When I say writing off, it was screaming the c word (not Colc&&ster) and telling them to get out of ‘our club’.
Haven't forgotten the abuse Ainsworth got at various points including the Eze Cambridge game. While we are doing acronyms some red faced numpties had stfu towards the end of that game.
Signing Kodua excites me because there is something there - there is potential that, if we can unlock, we will have a great player on our hands this season. Unlike Chem, who most people struggled to even see the potential.
Chem came with a bit more of a track record, and maybe just needed to do a bit more. but even that is assumption. It's great when loan signings work but some need more time than others and only a small number of those who look promising make it to this level.
Effing and jeffing at your own players rarely achieves much, so many factors involved but some people rarely see past "rubbish" or "lazy". If we want to borrow prospects we hope become players who we could never afford, or develope our own, you have to accept we'll have to give time to some who don't make it.

Ainsworth's back!!!!!!!!!!!!

His cracking goal from distance for West Ham U21s in the EFL Trophy last season lingers long in the memory.

That goal at Wembley was pretty special too.

Just about counts as a former player re-signing.
Touch of the Freds.
No chant required. Just everyone screaming 'IT'S GIDEON' as he runs out.

Well, that’s 3 in 36 hours. 🤷♂️ There’s the numbers, but of course it’s the quality that’s most important.
That extends the streak to 12 years, I think.
Yer it's a start and backing up my original point 😘
Excellent loan signings. Still think we need a centre half.

Nigel would be the dream final signing of the window🤞

Not sure if this post represents general Wolves sentiment, but interesting if true, and maybe presents faint hope that Lonny would be available to us:

Nearly doing something John Barnes like in a game towards the end of last season and the rest of his team mates reaction to it was enough for me

Yeah, I can’t see him coming and in all honesty, I want him to have a crack at the Championship. He deserves that.
Because the new is always seen as better than no signing for some.
Hopefully Kodua has a lot more to come, let's put it that way.
He certainly has the talent and speed Having had half a season with us last year, he will be much more prepared and I expect good things from Gideon.
I think it was Blackpool away where he was excellent and terrorised their defence. Given longer than his so far limited appearances as a substitute I think we’ll see a much improved player with the elusive quality of real pace.
I was at that game, he was excellent. Didn't stop the bloke behind me giving him tons of abuse for next to no reason.

That's worrying.
Why would you ever shout that at your own player!
