Season Ticket Renewal
This is a strange one. I’ve had a season ticket since 1986 and usually renew as soon as they become available. Living away from Wycombe I decided to wait until I saw which fixtures were being moved before renewing this time round. I decided to go for it and logged on to my ticketing account today. I’m a terrace ticket holder and have a physical ticket so as instructed clicked on renew. Cue an error message and I couldn’t go any further.
I rang the club and was told that apparently even though it’s the terrace you’re actually allocated a seat number. This is shown on my season ticket card as Row H Seat 52. Apparently this ‘seat’ has now been sold to someone for the Birmingham game so I can’t renew it as my season ticket. My only option is to pay a fiver for a new card. I don’t want a virtual card as my phones years old.
I’ll pay the extra fiver but it’s a bit annoying. It’s partly down to me leaving it until now to renew but I’m assuming a few longer distance fans were hanging fire until the games being moved for Sky coverage were announced.

Suggests a flaw in the system if there are unique 'seats,' for a standing area!
If the person stands in the place I normally stand in it could get nasty!
Well that doesn't appear to be quite true @StonyChairboy my terrace season ticket is clearly identified as:-
Row GA
Seat GA
Mine is a virtual card.
I have a physical card and it says Row H Seat 52. I need to get a virtual card. I’m like some sad old anti tech Luddite!
Not really it just helps them account for how many they've sold.
It does make sense. The moral of the story is renew early. The situation with so many games being moved must have an effect on season ticket sales. I struggle to make Tuesday evening games and a few Saturday games have been moved to earlier kick offs. If you don’t live locally that can be problematic. I’m only 40 miles from Wycombe but plenty of other season ticket holders I know travel much further. I would imagine some fans barely break even if they buy a season ticket.
I'm a bit nearer but don't really do midweek games anymore, Certainly isn't the bargain it once was but it's nothing compared to the bigger clubs. Was always an element of donation about it, that might be a harder sell when the owners are wealthy.
I can’t imagine not having a season ticket after so many years. I used to take the attitude that buying one helped the club out. This was very much the case under trust ownership.
Same @StonyChairboy . I haven’t broken even on my ST for years, but I’m not far off. So I keep it going as a token of support and also just in case we get one of the big teams at home in the FA Cup.
It makes sense that they keep a tally on the terrace, whether it's a season ticket holder or a single game casual.
But it makes absolutely no sense making the renewal awkward in that fashion.
Since someone who works in the ticketing industry told me a few things about these cards, I've always wondered if they can actually shut down an old card anyway .
I'm sure someone on here said they used the wrong card from a previous season for a game or 2 and still got in!
Definitely the same for me. I was touch and go this time round. I just about broke even last season. Loyalty goes a long way in football but this new TV deal really tests it. I shouldn’t complain as I subscribe to Sky so I’m part of the problem. It’s apparent the armchair fan is king.
That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard.... I know it's only a fiver... but what an actual piss take
