Watching the weather in Dortmund tonight indeed brought back memories of the Bristol Rovers game back in the day when lightning hit a stand, if I remember correctly we were 3 - 1 down in the second half. Glad to get out of the ground and get home in one piece. A scary afternoon !.
I was in the Valley End that day and I recall the away stand was struck by lightning, apparently. The game was called off by the ground safety officer, Fat Stan I think, donning his very important hat and quoting Health and Safety. The storm was over fairly quickly and I can’t believe it was called off. If I was a Rovers supporter I would have been slightly miffed tbh…it was not necessary in my view. Just needed to call players in for a while.
Maybe it’s age, maybe it’s the football itself, maybe it’s the inexorable rise of the far right across a dying world but colour me very unexcited for this evening’s match. Right now at 2:04 PM I honestly don’t care if we lose. Maybe things will change by 5PM? We’ll see.
My wish is granted. Let’s see what you’ve got now Gareth and team. Don’t get me wrong, I want us to win this, I always want us to win, but by Christ we need to change tactics and attitude. 1 down is the time to do it.

Teams taken off because thunder is scary......
Bohemian Rhapsody warned us, to be fair.
There'll be a few triggered Gasheads watching tonight
"Hailstones now bouncing on a football left on the pitch."
When the BBC says live text updates, they really mean it!
Was thinking about that one earlier. Still conditions to a bit of rain, to an absolute incredible storm and lightning.
Anyone in the ground that day will never forget it. The idea we somehow applied pressure to officials to get it called off is wild.
I bet when Micra was in The Somme they didn't stop for a bit of rain.
Though they did stop to play football, ironically enough.

You know that goal was never going to stand.
And now Germany get a penalty
This is (rude word)
Game’s gone.
Baah looks a bit like Kone, which is something.
What happened to not being able to stop on a run up for a pen? Havertz stopped completely.
They need to sort that rule out. And stop it being a pen when someone smashes a ball against someone from 2 yards away.
Did anyone see Gasroom legend Oily Sailor getting booked on the German bench?
And stop it being offside just because you wear a larger shoe size.
A lot to improve.
The main positive is these semi-automated offsides which would at least stop the farce of 3-4min waits at times in the Premier league.
That was an unbelievable pass.
Stop the stutter run up for penalties. I believe the law allows them unless the final step is a stutter.

Maybe it's having the easiest game in the last 16.
I think Italy would've been the easiest game
Maybe it's having the easiest game in the last 16 and zero confidence in us controlling the ball or being even vaguely entertaining
After walking the dog 2 miles in the afternoon sun I got my enthusiasm up to 4/10. It is now 2 and falling.
I’d like Slovakia to go 1 up and then see if we have anything as a team to come back and win it.
Trigger happy ref - can see a red in this game for sure!
Pigeons, may I introduce Cat.
Could be the best thing to happen to England, per @Manboobs above. Being forced to be positive.
Shit just got real

That’s game over with three yellow cards and 1-0 down.
Yet again we’ve shown nothing.
