The England U17 lads have now won their first two games in the UEFA Championship. They beat France 4-0 and Spain 3-1. Their games are live on the BBC Sport App.
They lost their second game to Portugal, so each of France, Portugal and England ended the group on 6 points. England and Portugal were level on goal difference with England having a superior gols scored column.
One might have thought a similar approach by The Trust/WWFC could have been developed off the back of the Couhigs world wide phenonemon perhaps as a way to fund the £3m annual deficit, or ways a slandlord to fund ground enhancements rather than relying on our tenant to do the right thing (still waiting...)
Great find! It does feel as though some opportunities may have been missed, especially with the ever-increasing American interest post-Deadpool....I mean Ryan and Rob.
Good to see EFL flexing muscles against Fleetwood, you can't pass the family businesses all on to your son after being found guilty of fraud and just carry on as before, especially when your son tried to throw a bottle at riot police while following England abroad.
Heavily rumoured potential Wycombe signing Jaiden Bartolo included in Gibraltar's squad vs Scotland and Wales, could face Low in the latter game. Other players to watch:
Tayler Carrington - Turned 18 this week, on the radar of several of Andalusia's bigger sides but looking to move to England. Formed a solid defensive partnership with Paddy McClafferty in the Gib U21s that have had their best ever defensive campaign this season, notably holding the Netherlands to a single goal.
Liam Jessop - Chesterfield winger who can also play RWB in a similar vein to Kyle Walker, likes to bomb forward in that role. Scored twice on his Chesterfield debut in December and is being linked to other EFL clubs while weighing up offers.
James Scanlon - big prospect at Man Utd, became a key figure in their U18 PL winning side while also featuring several times for their U21s. Not as much of a stand-out as players like Shea Lacey or Ethan Wheatley but very highly regarded by coaches there. Turned pro this week. Could be in line for a loan next season for first team experience so League One could be a potential destination.
Football has now gone completely bonkers financially. Ipswich have given McKenna a new 4 year contact worth £6m per season. It will be a miracle if they stay up and cost a fortune if they sack him.
Ipswich won't sack McKenna whatever happens, any more than Luton would have sacked Rob Edwards. They're minted now for at least the next 3 seasons and didn't want to lose him to Chelsea, or whichever failing, flailing big club came in for him. Where he'd inevitably fail to match lofty expectations and then be sacked.
The Caledonian Premier concludes tomorrow and it couldn't be tighter.
The fixtures are first v fourth and third v second. For Wishy to win the league, Giffnock and East Kilbride would have to draw, and Wishy would need to win by 10 goals at St Joseph's. Unlikely!
@LX1, the Saturday afternoon side couldn't get the commitment from enough players.
Their SMAFA (Saturday Morning AFA) side had a very successful season, winning the Glasgow Cup, and winning promotion from the Cutting Edge Engravers Division 1B, to the L4 Teamwear Championship B.

Now thats a great auto correct. And a lesson to wear glasses when posting
Seems to be principally due to the local Council withdrawing it's Grant and generally being unsupportive.
And their sole funder pulling out.
The third tier Playoffs in Spain don’t finish until June 23rd.
One of the last two Finals games could be played in Northern Africa.

Thanks for that, I only thought they had played two. 👍
We now play the Italians for a place in the semis. Italy and the Czechs the standout teams and we have a tough route to the final
Unfortunate name for the referee at the top of your U17 stats @wwfcblue.
Indeed, I had not noticed the spelling.
Saw this on the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cg33138kyp4o - in the club's own words here - https://join.ownasoccerclub.com/now

As a result of their demise, Hitchin Town have been reprieved from relegation from the Southern Premier Central.

Oh no, it appears you can, as you were.

Seems a bit high but he's earned it. Why would they want to sack him? Because of an inevitable relegation?
I fear you are 32 years late with that assessment!

There is something so satisfying about the name Mungo.
Especially "In the summertime"
What happened to Milngavie Mr Peart?

Wishy lost 3-1 at St Josephs, Giffnock beat East Kilbride 2-1. Final table.
Wishy are not done yet. They meet St Josephs again on Friday, in the William Turner Challenge Cup Final at Renfrew FC.

Bonkers that the game is free to air in the states but not in the UK. Dortmund getting so close.
Has anyone heard from @flymofrank in a while?
