0898 as a premium rate number went away years ago in the last numbering plan change. 09xx is now premium rate while 08xx is non-geographic ranging from free calls to 10p per minute (fixed line rates).
I find reference to 10th June as National Ballpoint Pen Day in Gringolandia, but can’t find a Uk equivalent. I have found claims that today is National Biscuit Day though: https://www.wincalendar.com/Calendar-UK
Disappointingly this website goes on to suggest that baking scones is a suitable way to celebrate National Biscuit Day. They also carry a meme referencing two varieties of Tunnock’s caramel wafer products. They do at least carry a dunking chart, albeit an inaccurate one.
Just been watching the Trust’s monthly meeting who confirmed that they have had no dialogue with the new owners and even more disappointing Trevor and Tony who sit on the main Wycombe Wanderers board as well have had no communication. Not a great start. Apparently Eduard and Dan Rice were up at the ground today meeting staff. Also informed that Eduard had seen us play 12 times last year!!!
Mikheil loves us but is shy. He knows we want to hear those three little words but he is plucking up the courage.
Or, his assistant will come in every month to his office with the bills and he will say "what am I signing for?" and his assistant will say "Oh, that line item there is the English football club you are financing for fun." He will then say "Is it costing me much?" and his assistant will say "At this rate you will run out of money in 3046" at which point he will sign the invoice.
It wasn't a surprise to see that today was the first time Eduard had visited, but it does seem odd that it's taken Dan Rice until now to visit given his role as Director of Football.
Here is a quote from ML on the clubs website nearly four weeks ago “We are looking forward to working with the Wycombe Wanderers Supporters’ Trust as we together take the club into its next chapter”.
If he has not spoken to the Trust then this statement tells you all you need to know on how his ownership will go.
Lomtadze became the official owner less than a month ago and he is restricted in the amount of time he is allowed to spend in the country, but you have already chosen to cast doubts about his ownership. Give the guy a chance before writing him off.
Yes. They have requested meetings and indeed offered Eduard Vyshnyakov and Dan Rice the chance to come to the Trust meeting this evening.
IIRC the first formal WWFC Board meeting is in a couple of weeks.
In short the Board know as much as we do and some of them weren’t entirely happy with that situation either.
It was very useful for them to get questions from the floor and the Zoom so that they can take them directly to their meetings and put forward our spices. This really is the time to be heard so mail the trust and get answers!
Other bits from memory were no plans yet put in for road, terrace, main stand / offices, or away end but they have had recent positive meeting with the council about the road. Without the road, none of the improvements will get approval. The terrace has been given at least another 12 months safety certificate. The pitch won’t be relaid until the pitch gets moved as they have to move all the piping and under soil heating.
The Trust will only now supply funds to the clubs for specific fan facing improvements entirely at the Trust’s discretion. There is also fund being put aside for any possible future disaster, I think it was called the Phoenix fund. This is an excellent development imho.
Whilst the Trust board have yet to be told the strategy for the clubs future, they would oppose crazy spending on players to get us up quickly and will prioritise sustainability.
I don’t think people are writing him off yet but come on , not having spoken to two board members in a month, is not very impressive. Tony at this month’s Trust meeting was totally exasperated at the lack of communication.
This was my exact reaction when I saw the club's social media post earlier this evening. Charitably, maybe Dan Rice was working his notice period and had to keep away from the club until that expired. But if that was the case, how could he be made a director a month back? I would certainly be keen to know whether the Director of Football position is a full time role and whether it's High Wycombe based.

Played over 200 games for QPR in three separate spells. Quite a rare Soccer Stars sticker in the first 68/69 series I seem to remember.
But I couldn’t remember where I put my spectacles this morning!
At last, a chance to out pedant @micra 🤣

I don’t think there will be any news now until next week or when the transfer window opens on the 10th June.
Who needs news!
This is the Gasroom, we make our own!
True. 😁
Seems a very random date. Player contracts end June or July?
It's National Ballpoint Pen day!

Take your pick
This further compounds my suspicion that the nation in question is the USA.
Its actually the 14th June not the 10th.
Ah yes, the 14th makes far more sense. Not random at all then is it?
Player contracts expire on the 30th June & new contract / sgnings kick in from the 1st July. The transfer window opens on the 14th June in the UK
No it is my birthday. Also Donald Trump’s. I smell conspiracy
National pop goes the weasel day sounds awesome, as long as it isn’t taken too literally.
Is National Bourbon Day an acknowledgement that without French intervention they would never have won the War of Independence?
The mind boggles as to the diverse ways of celebrating National Cucumber Day
Its the National Hole in My Bucket day. Being widely "celebrated" in Reading today.

Sounds about right.

Have the Trust tried to have a dialogue?

Everyone’s been on holiday, remember.
Or at least that’s what I was told when I pondered why we’ve not heard from anyone yet.
