EFL League One Table by Manager Loyalty (since 1990)
I thought this would be a good illustration of how stable of a club we have been since the start of MON's reign. It is also interesting to see that generally the smaller clubs have been more loyal to their managers - possibly because we can't afford to sack them as often? Obviously clubs such as ourselves and Exeter have benefited from extraordinarily long tenures for our level, but I am still proud of the relatively small amount of managerial turnover.
One thing I noticed is that this period - especially from 2000 onwards - is when managerial changes spiraled out of control. Many clubs had long tenures in the decades leading up to the 1990s.
It is so hard to give time in today's game, but I am very pleased that the Couhigs stayed the course with Blooms. Who knows how it will go from here, but it does carry on a long tradition on our part. If he lasts several years and has success, it might end up another lesson in going against the grain as far as itchy trigger fingers.
Fleetwood were excluded from this list owing to technically being a club reformed in 1997.

Are Posh that high by virtue of only hiring the same three managers over and over again?
Sounds like a technicality that Mr Swann might be interested in.
So the average tenure is just over 2.5 years. I was surprised initially to learn that we’ve had as many as 12 managers and thought I’d be hard pushed to name them all but suddenly they all come flooding back.
Not far off, to be honest! I think Fergie is on his 4th tenure and McCann has had 3 or 4 too.
Technically we’ve had 16 managers or 17 if you include JJ.
Four have been caretakers and two of the caretakers went on to be permanent.
Cheers mate - yes, I missed specifying that I am counting permanent managers only for this.
Alan Smith and Tony Adams shouldn't count
It was a fun exercise remembering the 12! Off the bat I got 10 easily but missed Lambert and Waddock!

I like the theory about small clubs having less cash to sack managers @Shev but it's more likely that the bigger clubs sense of entitlement forces them into continually sacking managers who have been average against most people's expectations but fall short of whatever they hoped for. A manager who takes a club down or just falls short of promotion often learns a bit along the way, continually swapping and starting again doesn't necessarily help.
Accrington must have had the least number of managers in the EFL since 2000.
Say Adams’ name three times and he appears in the mirror.
