Kenneth Horne, the urbane star of Round the Horne, was remarkable insofar as, if memory serves, he was a smooth businessman turned comedian/comedy scriptwriter.
He is not a popular chap up there, even before the game, let alone now! For about five minutes (when he scored on his debut for them) I wondered if we had made a mistake, but that quickly dissipated.
Exactly that. Hordes of utter goons think they can scream any obscenities they like, yet if the player dares to smiles/gesture/swear or do anything back, they're whinging all over the place.
I always wonder if Mr Strawberry Jam changed his behaviour after Mr Pierre's friendly forehead brush.
Looking at the Cambridge forum, it seems most of them understand Taylor getting annoyed in the moment, but it was the doubling down on social media later (when he should have had time to cool off) that they are more irritated at.
Many podcasters have missed a trick in not getting him on as a guest! I would love to know what has happened over the last few years - if he felt comfortable sharing
They ended the season 10 points from the play-offs, think they were closer when he joined. He was probably brought in to get them into them but, yes, seems harsh.

Lyle Taylor has hit back at Cambridge fans and told them to fuck off. Wonder if he will play on Saturday!
As I mentioned in the match day thread, the Cambridge fans were excellent on Tuesday night.

It’s a bit rich when someone calls a player a w@nker, gets told to F off and then moans about it.
I’ve no love for Taylor but he’s not that far out of order surely.
One party pays to get in, the other gets paid to represent his club. Too many players and press don't get that distinction.
He's always been a twat though.
Indeed. Glad he wasn't ours for long.
Modern comedy started with The Goon Show and Hancock's Half Hour, leaving Archie in the past where he belongs.
I would agree with that if “wanker” wasn’t such an appropriate and true thing to shout at Lyle Taylor.
if someone shouted “gasroom admin” at me, I wouldn’t tell them to fuck off.
GASROOM ADMIN!
YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE

Full disclosure- he is an utter **** of course. So glad his stay with us was short lived. Not quite Aylott quality but not far off.
Ex manager news so this is probably in the wrong place. Martin O'Neill appointed as the new LMA chair .https://twitter.com/moneill31/status/1783520562486075479

Jordan Ibe has been released by Ebbsfleet.
Not surprising having featured in only six minutes of one game in 3.5 months

And in that last line you may have asked the most pertinent question?
Nick Freeman scores the goal that relegates Cheltenham.
They were down without it weren't they?
Not if they’d won.
Lewis Wing has been voted the Player of the Season at Reading. (I am not gloating, just thought you may be interested).
What's a Lewis Wing?
Did his missus claim the award?
I’m sure that will make up for not being paid
Risborough Rangers manager Mark West has departed, after joining in February. 19 points were gained from his 13 games in charge.

Seems a bit harsh.
A point and half per game and it’s not worked out as hoped??
Thats marginally better than Wycombe achieved this season.

It’s a nut.
