Finding it hard to believe that the Sky audience for the final will be that big, apart from fans of both teams that didn't attend. What difference will it make if it clashes with Man Utd v Liverpool; not much is my guess.
While acknowledging this is going to make things very awkward for some, was there ever anything suggesting it would be 3pm kick-off?
I know it's what we would hope for and many would have expected but I've been looking for this information and it's been suspiciously absent from anywhere I've looked.
Jesus Mary & the wee donkey! We are at Wembley, up for the cup. And the financial benefit to the club is not inconsiderable. The sponsor, Sky etc pay for that and expect a return on investment.
Tired and grumpy kids! They should have tried going to the Middlesbrough replay and being back in school the next morning!!
I can't imagine there will be much overlap between the audiences who want to watch the Old Firm / Man Utd - Liverpool and who want to watch the tinpot trophy final. There's no need to move the kick-off.
Sky know there isn't much of an overlapping audience. They're just hoping they can keep bums on armchairs from midday to 8 o'clock by showing all games back to back.
Anyway, I'm currently holding out for a space in the box that @Kernow76 is getting, so I can be there all day anyway. Hope it has a TV as I'd hate to miss the football on the tele that day.
Feel sorry for anyone who'd already booked specific time tickets, they must be fuming when the kick off had been confirmed without any disclaimer that there was even a doubt.
Sky must have seen there was a chance of a big draw in the cup, but would probably blame police advice to make the United game a 3.30 not a 4.30.
Hopefully they judge the Old Firm derby as a different kettle of fish and put our game earlier, as 5.30 or later would personally be an arse.
My major objection is that it is a tax dodge. Ticketing fees are VAT exempt and the charge is not limited by any principle other than 'what the market will bear' and so it's a great way of taking 20% off the debit column at the expense of the already meagre public purse.
If it gets pushed back to 5.30, are Posh fans gonna be complaining for the next five years about how unfair it is and that we cheated? And are we gonna face ‘same old Wycombe time wasting’ tweets from Plymouth fans, or are we good with them now?
5.30 start means the second half kicks off at 6.30 due to our time wasting. Extra time from 7.30-8.00 then penalities. Celebrations until 9.00 followed by at 2 hour queue to get a train.
People are going to be getting home after midnight. wwfc_since_1993's kids will never be the same again.
A lunchtime kick off would make my attendance very touch and go as I'm on a flight back to UK that morning. Ridiculous that a kick off time isn't set in stone when you have 2 finalists and ticket details have been announced.
Although the league game was even more certain to move to the Sunday, but I suppose it'd generally be 4.30 until the police oddly thought a 1 hour move forward would make any odds, apart from screwing up our game,
It has no doubt, but only when it's come out that way in the fixture scheduling or as a replay, rather than them moving it to the Tue/Wed specifically.
Comments
With the following games already allocated on Sky Sports we will probably be moved to 5 or 5.30.
12.00 Rangers v Celtic
15.30 Man Utd v Liverpool
They've got plenty of channels. Just play the games at the same time FFS
Still, as someone has already said this is a neat little warm up for next season bombardment of televised matches

Number of BSM finals I have watched in the past: 0
Number of BSM finals I'm going to watch this year: 1
There'd probably be more of a clash if the BSM final went up against Emmerdale than any other football match.

@Twizz From the club's email of 26/02/24:
"Wycombe Wanderers are delighted to reveal its ticketing arrangements for the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium connected by EE.
The final against Peterborough United will take place on Sunday 7th April 2024, kicking off at 3pm.
Wanderers have initially been allocated 25,000 tickets for the West End of Wembley Stadium.
On-sale dates will be confirmed as soon as possible."
For what it's worth the Wembley Events site has always shown a 3pm ko too (and still does)

On Chiltern Railways yeah, but anyone who's booked to come from further afield will have to rearrange.

in a nutshell, well said
If we weren't in the final and it was on TV, I'd probably watch Bangers and Cash Restoring Classics instead.
Maybe the club should have stressed that, like you did @LeedsBlue, as I'd completed missed that paragraph! 🤦♂️
TBH, I had assumed (and you know what that did) that they were still in discussions about kick-off time and hence why ticket sales hadn't started.
Think that was also on the website.

Exactly. Lots just switch on whatever football is live and leave it on all afternoon

On the plus side if the fees weren't VAT exempt then that extra cost would be passed on to us, the purchasers, and we'd be charged even more.
I agree that it's ridiculous that for many events it's impossible to buy a ticket at 'face value' tho.

The Man U v Liverpool game on 7/4 is in the Premier League not the FA Cup.
United - Liverpool has been midweek before, so the police advice line would be nonsense anyway.
Whoops, right you are.
