I just about got away with dropping my phone on the steps of the Frank Adams stand. A few hairline cracks but when you think of dropping a phone over a metre onto that Rock hard surface it can only be considered a let off.
Couldn't agree more. By the time (pun intended) I've retrieved my phone, remembered the passcode and found the clock I'd have missed my bus. Give me a watch every time, analogue of course.
I've never been able to wear a watch, I just find having anything on my wrists incredibly irritating and annoying, tried to get over it a few times but just can't. So, as a result I'm a man in my late 50's and I don't even own a watch.
I’m feeling slightly guilty about having set this time-related March hare running (although to be fair it has generated some light-hearted and broadly thread-relevant discussion).
Your comment set me thinking. I have no sensation of wearing a watch. I actually have to look at my wrist in the morning to check whether I have put my watch on. I have a traditional sized men’s watch with a leather strap - very light - and I wondered whether the watches that you have found irritating and annoying were on the large size and had heavy metal bracelets.
Three points on Saturday and discussion about whether the kick off on 7 April will be put back or brought forward will (at least temporarily) be off the agenda. I hope for @twizz’s sake (and the sake of others whose arrangements could be jeopardised) that this issue will soon be resolved.
The anxiety over kick-off time is related to it's effect on whether the grandkids can attend @micra.
Anywhere from midday to 3:30pm and they are coming, but if it's 5:30pm then they probably aren't. That will be a shame as I'd like to continue the family tradition of ensuring that have an allegence to WWFC (ages 8, 4 & 2).
They have all been to Adams Park, but it would be great to take them all to Wembley too.
Sincerely hope the kick off will be at the right time for you all to go. In the days when I stood in the cowshed at Loakes Park with your dad and sundry others I knew you were there (behind the goal?) but obviously slightly older than the grandchildren are now.
The eighties were the wilderness years for me, @micra, as I didn't attend many games. University, and then being newly married got in the way.
Interest was rekindled when I started taking youngest son to Loakes Park in his pushchair and letting him crawl around on the ground in the cowshed. It's my belief that he and I can be seen in one of the season videos (1990-1991?), recognisable by his pushchair.
The grandson will be about the same age as his dad was when we went to Wembley in 1991 (i.e. 2), if he goes this year, and has already been to Adams Park for his first game.
My trusty Casio is still going strong after many years of service and has counted thousands of minutes of WW injury time - including the minimum of five mins at Wembley in 2020.
Where is the 10.30 rumour?! Surely that has to be nonsense. I can imagine 5.30 is very likely - Rangers v Celtic has to be an early kick off for policing reasons, they aren't going to move Liverpool Vs Man United for us, and Sky will want to (and are contracted to) show all 3 games. I can't see a situation where they allow our game to clash with one of those two (even if passed off onto another channel), even though the viewing demographic are unlikely to overlap much.
100% agree @micra. Any game at Wembley should take president against all other fixtures that day. It happens for League Cup & FA Cup (Semi's & Final), why is the BSM Trophy any different?

You must have really struggled with ties.. now those always felt awkward.
The only watch a man will ever need.

I promise to post a photo if they make it.
no school on the Monday due to Easter holidays should help with the decision making.
TV generates revenue that funds prize money - I get that
I could sort of understand a bit of confusion over the weekend when other fixtures were being moved
they have had a whole working day to sort this out now for a game which frankly is of little interest to most of the country
FFS TV company - make a fecking decision
It’s all a matter of taste, of course, but to me that is a monstrosity.

Look forward to seeing a picture.
Lock the thread.
Prefer the Casio
These still sell by the shed load. Cheap as chips and the battery life is fabulous. Mine is over ten years old and going strong.
Very nice. Really like that one.

They can confirm the kit but still not the kick-off time! FFS.
(Green & White, boo hiss).

We have stock to shift in the green it’s that simple
The green is a nice kit. I hope we get this KO time sorted today.
I'm hoping the delay means that both clubs are really fighting their fans' corner and pushing strongly for a 3pm kick off
I concur with @Kim_il_Swan

I’m seriously worried about the skin on your arm and wrist, @bluntphil.
Maybe O’Keeffe has a preparation that would be beneficial.
Nobody’s going to see my girly wrist !
Alarm setting’s a bit of a giveaway!
Rumours have been mentioning 2 different kick-off times for our Wembley date. It's either going to be a 10:30am or 5:30pm kick off......
Both ludicrous.

A number of posts on Twitter from different sources. I'll try and post a screenshot shortly
10:30am? Absolutely no chance.
