If we stay up and have a more serene season for 24/25, I would love to see GA come in on co-comms for a game. I think I would lose my mind, it would be so much fun!
The Haka was clearly too soon, he was chucking everything he knew at the wall hoping something would stick. He had earned the trust of the players over many years here, and crucially had Bayo/ JJ/ Blooms all buying into it. Heading to QPR and immediately doing that was a bad choice - having said that, if you did look past the screengrabs on Twitter, many players had been won over.
The media team putting that online was perhaps the most stupid decision of that whole situation
Looking back at the old tables, we missed the play offs by a point in 16/17 which must have been fairly traumatic at the time but has left no mark on my memory at all!
At the end of the final game that season, Ainsworth walked to the terrace pointing both hands in the air saying 'next season we'll go up'. I remember being, strangely, quite confident of that, and look what happened.
There were something like seven teams all vying for two places on the last day (I think), and we needed to not only win, but have several other teams lose.
Yeah it was a very relaxed atmosphere on the final day. The chances of us nipping in the play off spots were absolutely minuscule. It was all over a couple games before that.
You think QPR have a problem, many more clubs racked up bigger debts in 22/23 than QPR in the Championship. A lot more clubs due to post accounts for 22/23 in the next 5 weeks. You tend to find the later the posting of accounts the bigger the debt problem
The accounts have not been posted with Companies House as you can see from my link.
I guess the owners have tipped off the paper before posting them as they've actually made a substantial profit, very rare for a Championship Club and especially one that has just been relegated. Norwich who were also relegated in 21/22 posted a loss of £25M for 22/23. A huge difference of £50M, mainly made up from the sale of Jaoa Pedro for £30M and the exodus of 9 other players in July-Sept 2022 for undisclosed fees.

i really, really, really want QPR to get relegated. And then relegated again.
So does their former director of football apparently...

The most ridiculous thing about the Haka incident is that QPR media filmed and released it.
It’s either complete incompetence or setting him up to fail IMHO.
I watched it from start to finish, not the edited 2 minute episode.
by the end it was clear 80% plus of the staff and squad had bought into it and really enjoyed themselves.

Feels like forever since our last serene season. Maybe 15/16?

Even that season we were top of the league after 10 matches:

And we were in the playoffs with just 6 games to go, when it all tailed off miserably:

Was that the season that ended with a massive defeat to the PNLs? No wonder I’ve forgotten it!
Same. They're like a horrible Aldi version of Chelsea. And the main version isn't great.
Cor Blimey…Luton have done well since the mid table mediocrity of League Two that season.
And not so good for Barnet; York City; Dagenham & Redbridge and Yeovil
Unfortunately, on current form we are more likely to see Millwall than QPR next season, the way things are going!
You mean we not only lost games under GA but fell out of playoff contention? I thought that was a totally new thing...
What has Aldi done to deserve that?!
A "horrible" Aldi version... not just a normal Aldi. That'd be harsh.
Lidl?
Ainsworth for Sunderland???
Don’t think it’ll be long for QPR based on their accounts

Watford made profit of around £25m in their 22/23 accounts
Seeing that losses chart does make you wonder how the Couhigs ever thought financial stability, even with a sold out stadium, would have been possible
Probably that realisation is why Rob started hummin’ ‘just a sweet old song’ by Ray Charles😉
They have not released accounts for the 22/23 season yet.
In 21/22 they made an Operating Loss of £24.2M, profits on player disposals brought that down to a loss of £16.1M for ordinary activities before tax.

I suggest you advise the Watford Observer that they are incorrect then!!

This is nice to see, not least because it shows GA and Dobbo still as a team:

Gaz still wearing his QPR tracksuit.
