Great result. not sure why persists with Taylor , on the face of it he got rid of the wrong Taylo, Lyl3 has 3 goals and 1 assist in 3 games, Dale could only dream of those numbers (excluding children u21 games )
Good win. Extremely pleased for Matt and the staff. They definitely deserve this. Zero doubt in my mind that they are a very hard working bunch trying their absolute best.
Fantastic, best attacking display in a league match in a long time.
Vokes and McCleary rolling back the years.
Grimmer MOTM for me, he just led from the front, played brilliantly as a stand in centre back. Scored a goal and organised us really well. Proper shift from the Captain.
Tough run of games now but hopefully one defeat in 7 in the league gives us some hope of some more points.
Only one win I know and there’s still so much more we need to do to feel safe, but it’s worth pointing out that we are now 11 points ahead of Cheltenham, 12 ahead of Fleetwood and 14 ahead of Carlisle-big leads over the bottom 3. We also have 6 points more than Reading so those stating ‘League 2 here we come’ might need to take a closer look at the league table.
Hmmm.....those stating 'league 2 here we come' have been looking at the fixtures list, not the league table. Personally I think we'll be ok but it's going to be tight.
One thing’s for sure. There will be far better football over the next few games. It’s a long time since we’ve seen so much hoofball from the opposition. And it was very physical.
I think we resorted to hoofball ourselves at the start of the game in order to get play as far away (and as quickly as possible) from the threat of conceding an early goal which looked very much on the cards at the time.
Generally speaking I think the better the opposition the better we play.
Obviously delighted with the win and the change in mood on here. However, please can we get behind our team. Last month, GMac was considered a waste of space on this message board, now he is the best player to ever wear our shirt.
That's not to be mistaken for being negative. We have gotten used to being fairly successful in recent years, that's not a given. Please get behind the team you love and "support". This season was always going to be about transition and consolidation. Trust the process.
I agree but so have the clubs below us who all face matches against some of the current top six in their remaining fixtures. Reading are the biggest threat and their run in looks just as tough as ours, plus we still have to play them.
Good thing about league one is that you can turn any team over on the day, self confidence and momentum are more important than the size of the club maybe with a good transfer window and these couple of wins Matt has been able to relax a bit and transfer that energy to the players.
The Couhigs have backed their manager is it what I would have done well no however I suspect the team and we all go over the top together.
Oh and we have bleaterborough and headington coming up and they famously hate playing us here’s to raining on their parades.
Back to coughing up a lung at 3:40am
which surprisingly isn’t as much fun as it sounds.
Taking a closer look at the league table and Reading have picked up 32 points (4Points Deducted) and have been playing much better recently, though they’ve lost four of their most promising players in the last two weeks, including both their starting Centre Backs.
The improvement was clear but the next four games will show us what we are made of.
Lets hope MB can bring us some more joy and spoil the promotion chasing hopes of Oxford and Peterborough.
I suspect 47 points will see us safe this year or 46 points and a superior goal difference.

Rivalling Shakespeare for such an incredible command of our fair language.

I'd enjoy tonight as the next three league games are going to be a bit more challenging.
Next 4 isn't it? 4 of the top 7
Then Cheltenham at home.
Our last 7 wins have been vs teams west of Wycombe, so we'll beat Bolton and Oxford...
He put in a great shift today. We have to do the nasty stuff right before we can play any of the nice stuff.
I love to see some nice stuff though.

A happy drive home!
Playoffs and BSM?
2 goals, 1 cup.
Could you do me a favour and let me know which primary school you attended?
My daughter starts in a couple of years and just need to know which one to avoid.
You didn't need the last e and the d on the word attended.
get a grip fella....based on your comments you probably did not go to primary school
Bellend.

Yeah we can’t look at one and not the other.
Today has certainly helped but we’ve got some tough games coming up.
don't be hard on yourself fella.
I reckon we need 4 more wins
Let's review it in a month shall we... but I do hope you are right !

I think Cheltenham started better than us but were undone by two fairly quick goals (20’ and 29’) which set them back.
They are third bottom so let’s not get carried away.

I reckon we need 9 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses to squeeze in to 9th, where we finished last season.
I think Tom Holmes has been loaned back to Reading for the rest of the season.
