Because ultimately we have no control over any of it...we love the game, we love the club...but except for standing and shouting we hold no sway about what is going on on the pitch, which is in some ways frustrating and in other ways cathartic. Some go to games expecting to be disappointed, some go to games with hope and optimism whatever has gone on the week before. But I bet both lots enjoy it for their own reasons.
Most of being a football fan is massive disappointment and being able to moan expansively about it (food, shop, FA Cup tickets, parking, hot drinks, referees, tactically naive manager playing his mates) so we have to grab the few and fair between pleasures when we can.
We may have not turned up the last time...but it was fun getting to Wembley again!
Nicely put, I'm certainly not heading out three hours before kick off to about as far away from my house as it's possible to get whilst still being in London, walking straight past another ground with a different game on in a higher division and a variety of decent pubs for cheap and convenient Xmas japes or because I'm expecting a night of tiki taka that we must win.
Maybe we'll get a night out there like the one where Rhino was caretaker or maybe we'll spot something we haven't before and chat about it on here, or be there where it all turned around, maybe it'll be historic for less pleasant reasons. But it'll be our team and our support. I don't think you can claim it in the good times only or you end up with the dead day tripper atmosphere we had at Wembley.
I said flat footed. Not quickest. Quite crazy that anyone would suggest those are the same meanings. Chris is not agile. Can’t make a half turn to open up play without dragging a tank. Joe Low is far more agile and can throw in step overs to pull himself out of dangerous situations. It’s quite obvious tbh.

Is the weather likely to be spicy or Lemon and Herb @Shev , very difficult knowing which jacket to take out over here at the moment.
Here's to a heroic win that sparks a recovery / papers over cracks / means all our players will be poached in January.
The weather will be peri peri good. (sorry).
Glad you didn't chicken out of that one

Well, that’s it then. @trevor has pronounced.

Here Here! @StrongestTeam surely the upside of our present run is 'he won't be gone in January...'
Assume you’re referring to the “few and fair” we grab and jump up and down with whenever we score.
There's been a poultry amount of puns on here lately

Of course, @micra or limbs as we like to call it...although it's mainly creaky joints.
Zero optimism. Best way to prepare
No nuggets of team news either
Being cooped up at home since boxing day, with nothing to get eggcited about, has put that to roost.
Shame we're in such dire form. Orient away on a Friday night just before New Year would be quite an attractive away fixture normally.
They are.......
Actually, I'll wait until I see the team sheet before making any predictions.
Fans will be spitting feathers if we lose again
Looks like Bloomfield's decided to park the bus....
And the boys are up for it!
Fingers crossed for a positive result.
GMac is deceptively fast!
Official twitter (X) feed suggests Potts is back
Hope they aren't being COCKteasers
(Cheeky egg related pun there)

So I think it’s a four with Leahy left back. Potts Scowen partnership and then the forwards. Very fluid. Hope it works.
Good Luck Wycombe Hope you win Regards
Could barely ask for a better lineup. Come on lads! The cracks are here, you bring the paper.
Am I wrong, but was one of the reasons Leahy left Shrewsbury as he didn't want to play in defence anymore ? Or am I dreaming that ?
Anyway, so glad Potts is back !
Yep he defo said that in an interview
(Pol) Potts will turn Brisbane Road into a killing field.
Good looking side. Great to have Potts back.
Personally I’d rather have Vokes for Taylor to provide a focal point.
