I've always found Wimbledon fans to be weirdly miserable towards us every time we visit them or vice versa. Imagine how more miserable they'd be if we poached him back for a paltry fee.
Yeah, clause or no clause he isn't coming back here ahead of some of the others that he's been linked with. I'd fear that they won't cash in too quickly though as they know they have to send a good percentage of it this way and fancy a tilt at promotion.
The reality is that there is money splashing around the Championship and he has proved over 2 season (all be it 2 halves) that he will score goals. And there will be a manager somewhere who says to his board that they will definitely get promoted if they can get more goals. And a proven scorer is as rare as hens teeth. If only we had given him a chance.
Talking to Wimbledon supporters, a fair amount of the credit for his goal scoring exploits goes to his strike partner Omar Bugiel, who by the sound of it does a lot of the heavy lifting.
He’s clearly benefited from the Dons playing a traditional 4-4-2 and he might find it a bit tougher if asked to play as a lone striker two divisions up.
Had we ever played him in a front two with Sam Vokes, it might have been quite fruitful you’d have to think.
You have to be a special striker to play up on your own, Vokes flicking on to no one is one of the frustrations all of us have right now. Did we ever even try Vokes and AAH2.0?
Jordan Willis signs a new deal with Northampton. Never did find out if we didn't want us or we didn't want him. A very talented player, a great reader of the game, excellent in the air, not yet 30. Northampton fans certainly seem to like him.
"I had to go in and have an honest conversation about my playing time, though I recognised there were very good strikers there at the time," he explains in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports at the Dons' training ground, just off the A3 in New Malden.
"There was Brandon Hanlan, Anis Mehmeti was ripping it up at the time and Sam Vokes had been there and done it at the highest level.
"Personally, I thought I was doing everything I could in training and games. That's what happens in football sometimes; you just have to go and make a decision. I wanted to go and prove myself as the main main.”

So pleased. Always going to be ‘when’ rather than ‘if’ with Mehmeti. I still think he’s going right to the top. Superb player.
Also, Albania qualified for the Euros, so the timing may be perfect!
Al-Hamadi has been named in the Iraq squad for the 2023 Asia Cup, which runs from middle of Jan until middle of Feb.
I’ve been wondering if an AAH2.0 buy-back clause is the exciting thing for Jan that Blooms mentioned in interviews.

Would love this, but I would imagine AAH2 and his agent know that if they reject Wycombe they remain likely to get a Championship offer.

He’s on 15 goals now. With our attacking set up we could ensure he remains on 15 until May.
Wimbledon supposedly want £2.5m for Al Hamadi, so I doubt it!
If we do have a buy back clause, which I doubt, it will already be set and probably a lot less than 500k.
By what I’ve been told by more than one source at Wimbledon is we have a 50% sell on clause, again I have my doubts.
If Ali Al-Hamadi goes for £2.5M then we should have got at least 15 for Anis
It's an absurd valuation
They turned down 1 million from Barnsley
So they are therefore valuing him higher than Anis?
I know who I'd rather have back
Nice to see Wycombe Legend Adam Hinshelwood's son on the scoresheet for Brighton today
You know time flies when retired players who are younger than you, have their sons playing!
We valued Anis higher as well but he had a release clause agreed or probably would have left earlier for free
Ah yeah, good point

And they'll lose both of them to the Asian Cup in the new year - big blow

We're in trouble if even we didn't want us @TheAndyGrahamFanClub 🙂
Was Jordan Willis an ex-player?
Edit - I see he was...I could not remember him at all.
Stealing my thunder there @Wendoverman !!
Yes, he played a handful of games for us last season.
AAH2.0 just …
well you know
One for connoisseurs of this thread. Alex Jakubiak scores 2 in 2 minutes for Dunfermline.
🦆
Eze scores for Palace vs Brentford
We should probably rename this post ‘Ali Al-Hamadi and others’…
Sky Sports sat down with our former striker to talk about his upcoming Asian Tour with Iraq.
