A recent photo from Neil Harman's account on X shows GA (on the right) with a foot thing. Anyone know what happened to him? Probably did something 'Rock and Roll' is my guess.
I packed up on twitter a while ago, but his some of his posts were pretty odious even then. Started following him for a bit when his book came out but packed it in because I'm not interested in islamaphobic content and videos about how much better London was when, shall we say, 'the people looked a bit more like Neil Harman'.
Not surprising that he likes retweeting other people's content. At least he credits them this time around.
The wildest thing about his plagiarism is that he copied Barney Ronay - whose writing style is so distinctive it would have been spotted in an instant. Brainless.
Sorry to see that Gareth has sustained a foot/ankle injury, but then you know even famous rock stars have been know to fall off the stage once in a while. Maybe that's how it happened.
I'd like to think he gave someone a kicking on the way out of QPR, either a fan moaning about them not getting promotion or a player who suddenly discovered where the gym was when they heard of the change in management.
It does seem like Gareth is throwing himself fully into the music, though I suppose being out of work means there is still time to do that and still keep tabs on the sport and any vacancies. I am just interested to see whether getting a taste for playing (music) more regularly pulls him over into that world. It is quite a unique situation.
With the arse having fallen out of the music industry in terms of recording income, and touring costs at an all time high, even relatively successful bands still maintain day jobs when they’re not touring.
So with a young family to support, I can’t seriously see GA going too far down the music industry route - a road which almost makes football management seem like a stable job option.
Good points. I also heard that a few punters at his last gig said they would not want to watch it every week, and booed when Gareth went down clutching his ankle before the last song.
Yep. He'll no doubt have his (expensive) property long paid off, already comfy, huge compensation from QPR for one side of things.
And having no doubt been away from home loads with Wycombe, he's around a lot more, so the occasional week away travelling, or a few gigs won't be any problem.
He was there, large as life, complete with surgical boot and crutches. He did a great cover of Slades Merry Xmas Everybody... well actually that was pretty much all he did. Biggest surprise of the night was that his daughter did a (one song) set. She has a great voice and loads of stage presence.

Doesn't he still play sunday league?
I'm pretty sure he said on his sky sports appearance that he was having an ankle op that had been put off
Talking of Neil Harman's X account, does anyone else see the sort of thing he is prone to "re-tweet"?
For me, not a great bloke

Sounds a right arse.

Not on twitter mainly because of that sort of thing. Sounds very grim.

Plagiarism is a thing, see my post on ‘The Definitive Ex Player’ thread from yesterday for example.
Lol

Or somebody showed him the haka video.
I'm seeing him perform live at the Acoustic Couch in Bracknell tonight. I'll let you know if he's still wearing the boot.

We all knew that one day those red winkle picker boots would cause him damage.

True, but on the flipside, they got at least 10 minutes more music than they were expecting. “You know what you’re going to get at a GA gig”.
Let us know if there's a Dobbo cameo!
With a long playing career at a relatively high level and substantial compensation from QPR, I can't see Gareth would be currently on the bread line!
I understand Dobbo picks the band members and selects the set-list.

And are his family that "Young" anymore?
Does Gaz play many gigs locally / in London?
Could he come and sing in the beer tent in the car park before the match tomorrow?
Famous people tend to create clones. Both in music and football.
Which explains Leighton Baines going full Ainsworth
Close, but we need to see the boots.

Where was this?
Acoustic Couch in Bracknell.
