Be interesting to see...and I have my fingers crossed. I suppose the results said it all for Coop despite his popularity for dragging Forest out of their 23 year slog in the Championship...but as someone pointed out, unless Nuno is also bringing a decent striker and a goalkeeper with him he may not last long either!
Thankfully Forest should have too much about them in a division with Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton, though Luton have been showing signs of life.
It's always sad when a manager who achieved incredible things is sacked. I don't really have my finger on the pulse of Forest fans, but hopefully getting them back in the Prem and keeping them there will give him an affectionate place in their history.
Also, Blooms into the top half of tenure (46th of 92) now, despite being only 10 months in the job. Shortly to be 45th if Stoke poach Schumacher from Plymouth as expected. Headed for the top!
He remains very popular...but I think the universal support has started to splinter a bit recently...he will be well thought of whatever. He was obviously a decent man...as with most clubs I think the owners are erratic. Fans kept him in a job last season I think.
Schumacher move has been announced. Slightly surprising. Not sure I see Stoke having more potential than Plymouth and I understood he and his family had all settled well in the South West.
I think Stoke's owners have serious money and have Premier League aspirations, so he may have a window to kick on quite quickly, while also probably getting paid more.
Big move for him and his staff, bigger club, more money and an hour away from home. Do well at Stoke and I think the next move will be to a premiership club. They've had clubs come calling before but knocked them back so they must think this is the one for them.
Funny little coincidence, Schumacher and Mark Hughes his assistant are both Kirkby lads and the early front runner to replace them at Plymouth is Leighton Baines another Kirkby lad.
@ryan_w_kirkby2 is that Mark Hughes the former Accrington defender? I was always impressed by him when we played them in, I guess, the first Coleman era. A real leader and organiser.
I suppose the point I was making is surprise at Stoke - are they really such a big club? Surprised they were the one.
While I imagine every away game being an odyssey must be pretty demoralising at times, Schumacher had moved his family down west and seemed happy. Plymouth have had more than a few managers who move away from their families to manage down here and that is almost in variably a recipe for disaster - either with booze or women nulling the isolation. To be fair he did a very good job both on the pitch and off cleaning up the negative reputation Derek Adams left behind. They are now a very well run club who I think (sadly!) will at least consolidate in Lg1. Wouldn't put a huge amount of money on him still being Stoke manager at start of 25/6 season though.
I felt a bit sorry for the disabled Tennis player, the amount he's done and won he probably deserved to win it, only problem is its a public vote, so unfortunately lots of people were like myself and had never heard of him before. I'd imagine only die hard Twnnis fans have.
Yeah that's him. Maybe I'm biased but I always likened him to a John Terry type, brave, leader, good footballer etc. He just lacked pace to play at a higher level.
I imagine Stoke's ambitions next year will be alot higher than Plymouths. They we're in the prem not so long ago, imagine much bigger budget and potential to have 30k fans at a home game.
As for being settled I don't doubt that but when the chance to move home to a bigger club with potential (I know it could go wrong) then I don't blame him.

Probably misses the north after his spell in London

And he did win the Saudi league.
Does stink a bit of agents getting involved again, bad run right now but I don't think the table looks that bad for them depending on expectations
His agent probably will do.
Maybe limiting themselves to only 20 or so signings in the next window might help them improve.

Stoke is a bit of a managerial graveyard innit? They must have plenty of dosh. Didn't the Rev and Alex Neil flop there?
Good to see Mary Earps win SPOTY
Onana's Everton penalty was hilarious.
The greatest swear of the year should also be given out. Last year Jill Scott, this year Mary Earps.
Haha yes
Believe me it wasn't. I'm still in shock.

Nottingham raised and went to my old school, The Becket…along with Jermaine Jenas.
Oh and Michael Jayston (for those with long memories)
Ah sorry mate - forgot we had an Evertonian on here.
(It's still funny though)
.Leighton Baines in management - that's made me feel ancient

@Forest_Blue A SPOTY 1-2 for Nottingham with ‘Malfoy’ picking up second prize...

Good to see Forest Green get slapped 3-0 by Blackpool in that cup game that should never have been replayed.
Ah, we've caught a misogynist
