I'd only be interested in league stats WDL ... don't include cup games
Likewise, actually.
I completely understand the desire to give MB plenty more time - he's a hero for so many of us on here - but it just isn't working. I'd love to see him succeed as much as the next person, but if we're being honest, he isn't.
The football is slow and ponderous - we only upped the ante in the final 15 minutes today and even then didn't really look like scoring.
Attendances are nose diving (and Couhig is only interested in the bottom line) and those that are there - myself included - seem apathetic at best. How does anyone think we will be attracting more fans to the club with the way things are going now?
I'm looking forward to seeing the full stats to back up Blooms' reign so far. My guess is that if they were extrapolated across a full 46 game season, the points total would be not far off relegation form, and at the moment, that's the only direction we are heading in.
With respect, he's had the best part of a year, and there's been very little that I've seen to suggest that he's going to improve us as a team. @ReturnToSenda do you have his overall W, D, L stats? I think they could be pretty eye opening.
He’s only had a few months of “his” squad, and then with a big injury list of starting players of late. I don’t think it’s relevant or fair to include last season when it included several players he wouldn’t have chosen, and the very different style he inherited.
That he’s trying to “play” is encouraging, and welcome, after watching Gaz’s approach for so long.

It included Lewis Wing and Jordan Obita who he absolutely would have chosen..
The one positive is we went to 4 at the back quite early in the second half.
Very strange to have Jj and Keogh as the back 2 though. I can't imagine anyone on the forum would ever field those 2 together.
But Shrewsbury had so little threat is was comfy.
We need to ditch the 3 at the back immediately. Get some excitement and thrust into the building.
We need to get a couple of fast wide players in during the Jan window. We are so slow and narrow up front. We need to get wide men and stretch defences and bring in PACE!!!!!

Is it encouraging? What I'm seeing is pretty pedestrian sideways football, followed by one long pass along the line. How many league goals have we scored recently?
The football we are playing, and the way we are getting beat (especially today) is exactly how we used to beat and laugh at the likes of Oxford and MK. I'd rather be winning games than having 60% possession.
Surely not when we must have made 100s of passes between our back 4 deep in our own half?
It's a touch interview for a manager and a tough listen for us fans but no one cares about xg, passes, and other pointless stats when we've barely seen our lads make their keeper move about.
Totally agree. Who cares if we’ve had more passes in their half,36 crosses , wonderful xg etc.etc. We hardly worked their goalkeeper and lost the game. And Bloomfield to say Vokes had an impact on the game. What game was he watching.
Well, there you go. In my opinion that isn't good enough.
10 wins in 34 is pretty poor. If it wasn't Matt everyone would be screaming for him to go. Seriously I wouldn't mind losing if we were entertaining or at least having a go... but we're just so slow and bloody boring now !
Recovering from a heavy cold and didn’t make todays game. Sounds like I had a lucky escape. It’s been pretty dire all season for me. In fairness to Blooms the injuries have hit us hard but we’ve been pretty poor all season from the games I’ve seen. I can’t work out what we’re about these days. All the good things we did under Gareth have gone. Even when we were losing you always fancied a late comeback. We all accept Matt has to be his own man but there’s little sign that the players would bust a gut for him. It’s all a bit pedestrian and lacking in passion and fight.
Crowd wise we seem to be down to the die hards. I definitely think having to get to the ground stupidly early to park combined with the ongoing issues with catering don’t help attract the casual fans especially when the on pitch offering is poor. Then there’s the prices in the club shop!
I’m sure things will improve but a poor season won’t help with season ticket renewals. The new Sky deal will put a good few off especially when that’s combined with the continual cancellations due to international breaks.
We’ve been spoilt for the last few seasons but a massive improvement is needed.
I’ve not called for a Wycombe manager’s head since Alan Smith. Perilously close to doing so today. I have little confidence that Matt Bloomfield can lead us to anything better than 3,000 people asleep in their seats and 19th place.
Hopefully PGMOL will tell him his yellow card was undeserved.
Are you saying this was closer than at any other time since then?! Be interested to hear what you thought during Neil Smillie or Tony Adams’ tenure…I’d be tempted to make a managerial change but today was still light years ahead of the turgid crap under those 2

Yes, it’s encouraging he wants to play rather than lump, but imo, one main issue causing pedestrian sideways football as you put it, is the lack of movement ahead of the ball. Players on the ball (in defence and midfield) frequently look up for options, but are offered none so have to check out to play sideways or back.

Remember he picked up a winning team when he came in.
One that was building a head of steam and had every chance of the playoffs.
That said, there's no chance we'll sack him.
But we need to turn things around very quickly or it'll be a bleak 2nd half of the season.

One thing I will say is under Gareth we built a never say die attitude and our team was characterised by high energy, heart on the sleeve football. I haven't seen very much of that at all this season and it's really disappointing.
He knows he's out of depth with his tactics but is too stubborn to change as he thinks he's always right,i never thought i'd say this but we need Ainsworth and Dobbo back to save our season.

As I said last week, the never-say-die went away with Bayo, not GA. For GA's last two seasons we barely had a late comeback win. We have been a first half team since we came down from the Champo, and now we are a neither half team.

I agree he's stubborn tactically, but he's still a good guy. As @Malone says, totally wild to expect a manager to resign in these circumstances.

I disagree. We may not have achieved too many last minute wins after Bayo left, but the players still ran through walls for Ainsworth. Whether it is their fault or Bloomfield's I don't know, but I don't see most of them doing that now.

Late comebacks are a trademark of a never-say-die attitude. We have been saying "die" at the end of the first half for years now, brick walls or not.
The Sunderland playoff final is the most stark example of the "never-say-die" having...er...died. Couldn't get up for a Wembley final!

Why is Matt Bloomfield still in charge? Dropping to L2 would be disastrous!!

He looks out of his depth more every week,if he had any decency he would admit he's not up to the job and resign.

Bit harsh to question his decency

Agree entirely.

Too much decency, if anything
There's always someone who actually thinks a professional manager is just going to walk away from their livelihood. Mental.
"The boys have given everything" against a terrible Shrewshury team. Where do we go from here?
He knows he's out of depth with his tactics but is too stubborn to change as he thinks he's always right,i never thought i'd say this but we need Ainsworth and Dobbo back to save our season.
A difficult watch, I really like Matt, he’s obviously a family man and decent human being.

It's terrifying to contemplate but Ainsworth might really want to be a rockstar and not come back.
So we'll have to turn to MO'N as our security blanket. He's said he wants to manage again....
I disagree. We may not have achieved too many last minute wins after Bayo left, but the players still ran through walls for Ainsworth. Whether it is their fault or Bloomfield's I don't know, but I don't see most of them doing that now.

I actually nodded off for the first time ever at a football match today.
Also, my daughter asked not to go today and stayed at home. We haven’t missed a home game together in about five years.
