Not gonna pretend that was a good performance, but it was a huge improvement on recent weeks. Good to see so many returning from injury, but it'll take a few weeks for them to be back to form.
We had enough chances today to score, we're just lacking that touch of quality and finish. Very tough to lose a match against a side that showed no ambition at any point in the game. To be fair, they did score an excellent goal with their 1 attack and defended well. I'd be delighted to see us win a game in that manner!
Surely not when we must have made 100s of passes between our back 4 deep in our own half?
It's a touch interview for a manager and a tough listen for us fans but no one cares about xg, passes, and other pointless stats when we've barely seen our lads make their keeper move about.
People who don't go to games who pop up in one of the most bleak games of the season where we've barely got the ball in their half saying we've had the better chances according to the stats maybe 🤣
Agreed, we’re passing the ball slowly across the back line and then telegraphing where and when we are going to push the ball forward giving the opposition plenty of time to shut us down . Shrewsbury didn’t have to do anything particularly ambitious just wait , we only gave them trouble when they started to sit too far back and Vokes came on.
With respect, he's had the best part of a year, and there's been very little that I've seen to suggest that he's going to improve us as a team. @ReturnToSenda do you have his overall W, D, L stats? I think they could be pretty eye opening.
but we did look better when...surprise surprise, we moved to 4 at the back and could push another player up. I'm certainly not suggesting that that's a magic cure-all, but it might be a start...?
How many games have we pinged it about prettily enough, but not actually scored because we don't have enough players up to get on the end of anything?
Did anyone else think we looked better with a four? Was I blind? I certainly disagree. Better with five. Even though I was begging for the four prematch.
Just back from the game. We are in trouble. Football is pedestrian, no passion , no creativity and frankly we carry no attacking threat whatsoever. Cannot see where a win is going to come from. No atmosphere at the ground and attendances will continue to decline, if the team keep serving this dross. Is this close to end for Bloomfield?
It's OK. The new owner will do the Russian baddie thing and pay Bloomfield off (which explains why the Couhigs gave him a longer contract) and we can all blame him for the change. Being a billionaire he persuades Andre Villas-Boas to return to the UK and.....
Well, we'll just have to wait and see how that pans out.
i think we all need a break. The players , manager and fans could all do with a couple of weeks away from football, then start the season again. Thank god we haven’t got a busy period approaching where we always seem to struggle.

We're in real trouble here.
Don't particularly get the Keogh moans today as he pretty much kept their attack quiet and passes efficiently. Bar one insanely poor kick out of play.
It's the overall terribly slow passing it round the back from everyone then just aimless booting it down the wings.
3 Saturday home defeats on consecutive weeks.
Bet we haven't done that many times in our league history.
@ReturnToSenda chances of that are absolutely zero for reasons we all know.
New contract given out very bizarrely a few weeks ago.
The background of some Georgian businessman seemingly getting involved, so who makes the call?
Ex legend we paid to get out of his contract not even being 1 year in.
Ainsworth clearly would be the first port of call too.
Agree on Keogh. One of the better performances today. Compared with Grimmer and JJ he was imperious.
Oh, I don't expect the current regime to make anything other than an easy appointment, but if a sale is imminent then...
Yes. Seems very odd to criticise him when Shrewsbury basically scored a worldy but had zero other threat.
That was the absolute archetypal 0-0 end of season midtable on the beach fest otherwise.
More passes in their half than ours?!

At least Manchester United won today.
Oh.
Agree with Malone stats do not win games goals do
Bore off son.
Wycombe being utterly pony should keep you happy you can be your usual morose self.
No one, you say? 🤓

(That's one long sentence)

We’re in a spot of bother here folks.
In fairness, I said it 'looked like that' - proof you can't do everything by data alone

Uhhh, I think @Shev had them last week
The one positive is we went to 4 at the back quite early in the second half.
Very strange to have Jj and Keogh as the back 2 though. I can't imagine anyone on the forum would ever field those 2 together.
But Shrewsbury had so little threat is was comfy.
We need to ditch the 3 at the back immediately. Get some excitement and thrust into the building.

At the game it looked like we're a team who are absolutely nose diving towards league 2
We had one spell a month or 2 back where it looked like things had clicked. Results weren't necessary superb but there was some real hope.
The Last month has been appalling though.
Did anyone else think we looked better with a four? Was I blind? I certainly disagree. Better with five. Even though I was begging for the four prematch.
Took out a pointless player sat aimlessly at the back. And the full backs got forward as much as the supposed wing backs did.
I'd only be interested in league stats WDL ... don't include cup games
