Disappointing result but overall another decent performance, with the second half being better but we are still looking to cross the ball in from in front of the defenders (i.e. from too deep) rather than our wide players whipping crosses in from the goal line which ar much harder to defend. Overall we are just missing a bit of confidence & the odd bit of luck.
@drcongo To be fair best I have seen Keogh play for us
Is the problem the players don’t understand what Blooms wants them to do, or they can’t do what Blooms wants them to do? Either way, we can’t go on like this.
Pretty easy to see where our problem is - the opposition sets up to defend and our best player is a one paced central defender - I’m afraid he saw far too much of the ball.
If he wasn't Matt Bloomfield and was any other manager, this forum would be calling for his head. Bar one good run in September, it's not been good enough. Desperately sad as I love the man, but I fear things could get sour quite quickly.
Less than 4000 attendance today and a dire atmosphere - seems some are already voting with their feet.
The Christmas run of fixtures (Port Vale, Exeter, Leyton Orient, Bristol Rovers) are absolutely massive. They could kick us back into gear, or leave us in the bottom 4. If that happens, I think he'll have to go.
The fact is, it is MB and we all want him to succeed. I think he's due more time. It was always a big ask to expect a manager with 3 months of experience, who had only barely been retired for a year, to be an instant success.
He is due time, and the Couhigs will give him more time, but surely not much more.
If he goes, it's a sad state of affairs - if a club legend isn't given time as a young coach to figure things out, where can we expect new managers to catch a break?
Our season seemed to go tits up around the time of the October International break, prior to that we were doing ok, since then we have not won a game, drawn 3 & lost 5 (3 pts from a posible 24).
Not sure what occurred in terms of injuries either just before or during that break but it seems to have had a hugely deletrious impact on our form, which in turn will have led to a drop in confidence & poorer form. Blooms & his team need to find a way to lift confidence/self belief especially now players are coming back from injury & our squad strength & depth are improving.
I’ve not called for a Wycombe manager’s head since Alan Smith. Perilously close to doing so today. I have little confidence that Matt Bloomfield can lead us to anything better than 3,000 people asleep in their seats and 19th place.
Hopefully PGMOL will tell him his yellow card was undeserved.

He was excellent today, but our attack is really where the problem lies...
Does make you think how lucky we've been as fans. The last decade we've effectively had a cup run, a promotion or play off final every year.
Nice to give Shrews their 3rd goal and 2nd away win of the season
Weirdly he hadn't done much recently and shrews fans weren't keen to have him back either, was always going to haunt us at some point that one.
Matt's league win percentage now under 30
The problem is more the system employed by our manager.

We will be relegated if we stick with this back 5. Slows the game down to a crawl. Predictable. Easy to defend against. Wake the f up people.
Relegation battles are also exciting
I'll second this
Not when you lose them!

What a miserable time to be a Wycombe fan.
Bloomfield was always a gamble but one worth taking. It hasn’t worked and now we should move on while the likes of Ainsworth/Duff are available.

Same.
A cold hearted statistician would look at that game and say if it was a played a million times Wycombe would win 60% or thereof.
Encouraging signs. In Matthew we trust
Hopefully Grimmer gives another stirring speech everyone can applaud.

Spot on with your first sentence. Anyone pretending otherwise is kidding themselves.
I don't think anyone is kidding themselves?
Everyone knows that MB is being given more time because of his standing. Did you expect it any other way when he got the job?
First goal was always going to be vital today.
No, that was my argument against the sentimental appointment. Boards make a rod for their own back whenever they do that.
But people do seem to be acting like they'd have the same patience with a manager other than MB - which they just wouldn't.
Yes I would
🤦🤦🤦🤦
Fair play - plenty wouldn't!

Dobbo is available.....could do with his experience in the club right now
We need a clean break from the past. Get Duff in.
