Great news. I believe in his first press conference, he stated that they needed to get better if they had any ambition of reaching the play-offs. I think everybody bar the clubs owners would say they were already performing to the standard expected of a play-off chasing side.
I've not actually got anything against Birmingham... but bloody hell this is funny ! What a dreadful appointment. Bet Eustace is having a laugh somewhere
Rare to see a player booked for it either - it's clearly unsporting behaviour. Should be a booking and the pitch should be fixed before the pen taken (although the effect of delaying the pen has still been achieved, which makes me think there's even a case for making it a sending off offence).
In defence of Campbell (something I rarely do) his managerial record isn't bad, considering his two jobs were at lost causes. Even had Macclesfield near the top if League Two before he left as they were beyond broke at that point and about to fold.
If he weren't such an insufferable tool he'd probably be a Championship manager by now. His talent as a coach is cancelled out by his personality (not that it's stopped Steve Evans)

Manning was targeting Mehmeti in January

Chelsea to Oxford? That's a ridiculous step down.
Sol Campbell explodes again
In fairness it is a disgrace that one of the worlds finest football minds like Campbell isn't managing at the top.
Norwegian club Lyn miss out on automatic promotion by a single goal, despite winning their final game of the season 10-1.
Wayne Rooney's Birmingham lose for the fourth time in five games
Mehmeti starts!
I blame the leaky defence

Someone should tell him there is no relegation playoff.
The second time the club have done it too (Rowett to Zola). Those who do not learn from history and all that...

Tragically a player passed away after collapsing on the pitch during an Albanian league match yesterday.
RIP Raphael Dwamena
Not sure the old fella was amused!
Is it just me or has tampering with the penalty spot become a lot more common? Seems to happen every time now.
Truly pathetic. And if there was justice, Palmer would mess his pen up, taken from the same end he was rucking the spot up earlier!

I'd be happy with it being a red, tampering with the playing surface or equipment should be an absolute no no.
Rarely watch PL, hate both clubs, but that was an incredible game.
Reading have scored 19 goals in their 3 EFL Trophy group matches this season after last night's 5-2 win.
Assuming they're playing a few fringe players, maybe they need to play them in league games instead.

Sol may be a bellend, but my Southend supporting colleague says he did a very good job considering the circumstances...

what's the difference between a pot of Yakult's finest and yer average Brizl Rovers fan?
the pot of Yakult's got culture
Should talking absolute shite on TV and radio at every opportunity rule you out of contention for managerial posts. Yeah, probably.
Just noticed that Walsall's stadium is called the 'Poundland Bescot Stadium'... 😂
Poor old Sol...we're laughing at his chances and he's given up football management.

More room for Lampard, Rooney, Hughes, Gerrard et al to keep getting jobs...
Good to see Ronnie and Reggie back on bbc
