So far today, Spain narrowly beat Jersey by 5 runs. Jersey needed 20 runs from the last over, hit the first two balls for six but lost wickets in the final two.
Italy had a comfortable six wicket win over favourites Netherlands XI, and Ireland XI beat Spain by 55 runs, after scoring 216/3, with Tim Tector smashing 108 n.o. off 32 balls, including 13 sixes.
England XI beat Jersey by 79 runs. England 155-6, Jersey 76-9.
A poor start to the England innings, 53-5 after 4.4, but a fine sixth wicket partnership of 102 off 32 balls rescued the day. Then the superb England bowlers got to work. Conner finished with 2-15 off two, would have had a third if Rishton hadn't dropped a catch.
Germany/Ireland XI next at 7:30, tomorrow England XI play Germany at 13:00 and Netherlands XI at 19:30.
England XI 183/2, Germany 53 all out off exactly 10 overs.
Tom Hinley (86 no) and Dan Lincoln (68) set up a big run chase but Germany, one of the better looking teams so far, collapsed. Three wickers each for Tom Sturgess and Freddie Fallows. Conner took one wicket.
England XI 121/5, Netherlands XI 125/4 off 8.5 overs.
England lost early wickets and we're 38/4 after 15 balls but Lincoln and Bevan put on 78 to get to a respectable score. The bowlers kept the Dutch relatively quiet but they accelerated towards the end, with Boris Gorlee unbeaten on 78. Conner took two wickets but 25 runs came off his second over.
Tomorrow England face Italy at 10:30 and Spain at 15:00. After two days, no team is unbeaten. England, Netherlands, Spain and Germany top the league with four points.
I have no real interest in cricket shorter than 50 overs but I am really enjoying this competition. The unusual nations taking part and the venue make it seem quite exotic. There has been some high class batting and bowling. The commentators are very good as well.
Given how incredibly cheap flights to Malaga can be, I would be interested in going out there for next year's competition.
This is the "group stage" of the final week for what it's worth. It's a seven team round robin - six teams including England qualifying through their own groups over the last three weeks and the defending champions- , and we're somewhere in the fourth round of matches as I write this :) After the round robin is completed , the bottom three teams are eliminated and the top four play a ladder knockout for the overall championship on Friday.
Cause it's T10, you can play five or six matches a day with each individual team playing twice (or even three times) . It makes very fast-paced TV, but TV you can dip in and out of very easily.
England's excellent net run rate should mean that a victory over Ireland XI in their final match tomorrow, keeps them on top. That match starts at 10:30.
England XI top the group on net run rate, from Netherlands XI and Spain, all three on eight points. Ireland XI finished fourth on six points to qualify, edging out Germany on NRR, thanks to their nine wicket win over Italy when they scored 119/1 off just 4.2 overs.
Tomorrow at 10:30 Spain play Ireland XI in the Eliminator.
England XI play Netherlands XI in Qualifier 1 at 13:00. The winner goes into the final at 19:30. The loser plays the winner of the Eliminator at 16:00 in Qualifier 2, for the other final place.
England XI 158/6 off 10, Netherlands XI 143/6 off 10.
An exciting match, England got off to a poor start at 19/3 after 3 overs, but Sam Young's magnificent 84 off 27 balls (12 sixes) enabled his team to post a good score.
The Dutch also had a poor start, 21/3 off 2.2 overs, but started finding the boundary. They needed 26 off the final over, which proved too much. Some great fielding by England, Conner was in the team but not used as a bowler, six others preferred.
Apart from @Steve_Peart and @railwaybeth is anyone else tuning in to this extraordinary tournament? I was determined to track down some play on YouTube but all I could find was a match between Finland and Austria in a fairly small circular field which looked as if it hadn’t been mowed for a couple of weeks.
Netherlands XI made 145/3 off 10 overs. They raced away, getting 105 off the first six overs but then the bowlers pegged them back. England dropped four catches, disappointing.
Congratulations to England XI for beating Netherlands XI by 8 wickets. Tim Hinley scored a superb 71 no off 24 balls, in a total of 146/2, with 11 balls to spare.
Although Conner didn't play in the final, he took important wickets earlier in the competition. It will have been a great experience for him. What a season he has had, his club are champions, his county are champions, his country are champions. Am I allowed to say that High Wycombe won the Ryder Cup and the European Cricket Championship?
Well, that was fun, looking forward to next year's tournament. Now over to the big boys cricket thread.
The inaugural Women's European Cricket Championship gets underway today at the Cartama Oval, near Malaga. Five teams are taking part in same T10 format over six days - Austria, England XI, Italy, Netherlands and Spain. England are late joiners after France pulled out. There is live streaming and the first match, Spain v Austria, starts in a few minutes at 08:45 today. England XI play Austria at 12:45 today. Schedule here:

The Netherlands XI , as defending champions, didn't compete in the group stage fwiw. Good luck to Mr Haddow!
