Thought Pattenden was outstanding this evening and quite possibly our strongest performer. Resolute defensively, an excellent delivery, and always looking to be direct and positive. Incredible how much progress he has made from just a small string of starts and can seriously see him holding down the RWB spot for a fair amount of the season.
Quite quiet in all honesty. Maybe a little nervy. A couple of tidy passes to set off counter attacks is all I can remember. Pretty non-existent defensively unfortunately.
I think Breckin did ok, neat and tidy but definitely playing it safe more often than not. I thought he looked a little stronger physically in the challenge and had a couple of good pieces of play. Cannot see him getting near Potts, Scowen or Leahy for central midfield first choice though, but he is young so may develop quickly so who knows.
Declan Skura at the back continues to impress, sure he has a future. Pattenden very good again.
Phillips was good again, and a great header from Vokes.
I hope Breckin develops. To be fair, a couple of games ago I thought Phillips was just an agent with a license to barge, but he has been brilliant the last two!
Yes! That was what prompted my post, but his performance overall I thought was excellent again. He seems unbelievably fired up at all times, but manages to also have pretty amazing close control. He seems to be improving every game too, could be an interesting season for him.
Always thought Phillips was a clever player from his first game for us. His movement out of possession was very smart and reminded me of Dele Alli or Muller. Recently he’s looked a lot better on the ball after a bit of patchy form. Makes total sense now as to why he’s been patchy - he had no pre-season due to concussion and he hasn’t played 90 mins since April. Can tell Bloomfield rates him highly if he keeps picking him so much whilst he was out of form. Can’t wait to see how he progresses. Potts, Phillips and Taylor are clearly the three standout loan players so far.
All action isn't he, possibly to the point of being a little concerning but he's young, very talented and will only get better.
I'm sure we will have harder opponents, will still lose a number of games and probably aren't at the level of the league leaders but it's frightening how good we could be if they keep the spirit going and they all fire.
Has to be said Blooms has done a cracking job over the last week getting heads up after Pompey and choosing who needs a rest and who needs minutes. Genuine competition for places now.
Partly to humour @Wendoverman, I would say Harry Boyes has been increasingly impressive. Breckin will no doubt take slightly longer and get less minutes, given the competition for places in central midfield.
Best recruitment this season for several years. Especially, as predicted, in getting the average age down. (Yes, I know that most, if not all, of the young loanees will not be with us for the longer term.)
Absolutely. You are right @Twizz. But I like to be emphatic when expressing my delight that someone has shown awareness of one of the subtleties of our wonderful language. Especially when I’ve dropped a bit of a clanger.

How was Breckin?

Time to stop worrying about losing games and start worrying about the manager being poached by a bigger club. Hopefully not QPR again....

I love all this positivity and have been thumbing up left right and centre.

Fewer minutes surely?
Who?
You’re absolutely right, @therabbittest.
Surely you are either just right or wrong? Do you need "absolutely"? @micra
Quite right.
Most certainly
Certainly so

Empathetic as well, of course.
