To be honest, if anyone has the new shirt, I'd take it straight back even if it's not faulty. What's the point in waiting for it to be washed, then fall apart and then having to take it back?! Just return it and wait for a better quality one to arrive (maybe from another kit manufacture)
This is also going to be a PR nightmare for the club especially with the community / family day coming up . You would have thought that with parents coming along, kit sales might have paid for a good chunk of the expenses for that day!
The present Mrs Bargepole washed my shirt for the first time this morning, and actually bothered to read the washing instructions.
It says on the label to wash separately, and don't use fabric conditioner. So she decided not to put it in the washing machine, and washed it by hand in the sink, using warm water and a mild handwash detergent.
It came out completely clean, no problem with the badge, and is now hanging up to drip dry.
Just to add to the thread, if you ever buy a shirt and pay to have the iron on EFL badges on the sleeves you should wash inside out. I didn’t realise a couple of years back and it’s started to come off after a few months but the club were absolutely fine with heat pressing it down again.
Bizzare, Does nobody test anything before they put it on sale? Villas shirts retain sweat and discolour mid game, Women's team strangely enough don't want to wear it.
I saw one article where it said 'It is not a problem for the supporter shirts' . If you ended up with a soaked, clingy vestment just from walking to your seat from the pie stall I assume something would be done about it very quickly.
I think at most top level clubs the players don't actually wear the same fabric as they sell to the mortals , was it spurs who had a separate "Active wear" version for an additional £50 more than the mere £70 they charge for the "replica". Someone somewhere is making lots of money and it's not the person making the shirt.
Really don't want to consider how sweaty your average football fan is at any stage.

That could be a genius way to shift the dodgy "dissolves in 1 wash" issue, as no-one will wash signed shirts 🤣

Perfect opportunity to sell retro shirts to people who don't want to wait for repairs.
