The 'Player X' Game
I was discussing with a friend of mine (Arsenal supporter) how certain players manage to write themselves into club lore with a game named after them. Usually it is someone not knowing for scoring goals, and of course the example I gave was Marcus Bean (his was Steve Morrow). If a Wycombe fan says 'The Marcus Bean game', there is never a shred of doubt as to which game is being referred to.
I don't think there are too many of these, as again, goalscorers tend to have a lot of high profile games. I suppose if someone said 'The Joe Jacobson game' the assumption would be the Lincoln hattrick, and 'The Eze Game' would be Cambridge, of course.
My question is, what are your own versions of 'The Game' for players, whether current or from yesteryear?
Some other recent ones for me, though the first two benefit by having little competition as the player had not make many starts:
The Pendlebury Game - Cheltenham (A)
The Joe Low Game - Leyton Orient (H)
The Fred Game - Fleetwood (H) Playoff 2nd Leg
The Dom Gape Game - Chesterfield (A)

Wembley final v Oxford. The Anthony Stewart Game.
Roy!
What about the Jordan Rhodes game?
Mk Dons play off semi second leg also
Stockdale could lay claim to that one too to be fair.
Luton away was definitely the Alfie Mawson game
The Roy Esseandoe game the ultimate x game
The Carlos Lopez game
I’ll always remember the Jon Parkin game with THAT Russel Martin volley!
also the Disco Danny / Jocky mix up match…
Plymouth away - the Barry Richardson match.
The Tony Hemmings game Vs Crewe. First game after Scotty left for Swindon
The Jason Cousins game Vs Doncaster
Haha! Was just typing that out!
Rammell in the snow,
Leicester and Essandoh,
Carroll at Wem-ber-ley,
Grimsby and Martin Lee
Talking of Senda, the game I’ll always remember as being his game was the first time Lawrie Sanchez tried him at right back in the EFL Trophy (or whichever windscreen sponsored version it was then) away at Leyton Orient.
Up until then he’d always seemed like a lightweight striker or winger promoted from the youth team who had a few skills but wasn’t likely to make it.
That night at Brisbane Road he was an absolute revelation and seemed to be playing right back and right wing at the same time. A talent that never left him. He never looked back after that night and went on to many fabulous performances in the quarters and a great career overall.
The Craig Mackhail-Smith Game: Hattrick against Crawley.
Mad that there has only been one hattrick since, and it was from a left back! I can't believe Bayo never hit one for us (unless I am missing one?)
The Jermaine McSporran game is also the Bruce Grobelaar game
The Richard Harris game
The Jermain Defoe game
Most of these immediately bring back long lost memories, well done all.
I'm sure there were several 'Bayo games', but Southend away in 2019 stands out.
Mark West game, among all those goals it’s the winner at Wembley with a fantastic diving header
Sorry to remind those that had put to the back of their mind… but… the Ray Wilkins game. God rest his soul😢 .
For the oldies - the John Maskell game (at Middlesborough)
Which gives me a good excuse to share this link too

The Ty Gooden game. First friendly on this list I believe
The Matt Crossley game - Sutton away in the Trophy SF.
The Miguel de Souza game.
Some superb barnets on display
Going off on a slight tangent - the Stuart Beavon season.
The Glyn Creaser game - a few days before he actually joined us.
The Nick Freeman game, there must have been one.
