Pretty odd that official club channels no longer can throw us that nugget to let the fans/customers know if there is a possibility of a deal or not. No doubt it gives the opposition a competitive advantage...
Well, anti climax or what !! Thanks for keeping us all updated WW. If we've turned down decent profit making money on Hanlan, that's just bloody stupid in my opinion.
I still think we need a winger. I remember every Sunderland winger (Jack Clarke mainly) at Wembley picking up the ball and running at us, and me distinctly thinking "oh shit".
Total anti climax. Assume Hanlan’s fairly pissed off if we’ve scuppered the deal. Uche’s a free agent so no time constraints involved. But without Hanlan’s money, we probably can’t afford him. Bad day all round.
You’ve got to feel a little for Hanlan if he was up for the move and it’s fallen through due to something out of his control. New start with a team that is far above L2 level in profile, opportunity to be the main man, more money…
Now he has to quickly get his head back into Wycombe and the job at hand as a fringe player.
Strange business for Wycombe too. If reports are true and he only has a year left on his deal, then in all likelihood we’ll probably lose him for free in the summer. For a Mehmeti-calibre player that would have been worth it, for Hanlan not so much.
I think I was a bit harsh about Hanlan yesterday - 300k would have been good business, but he's not the waste of space half the fan base seem to think. Some nuance needed...
Very odd business all round. Very unlikely he’d have failed a medical and I don’t believe we’d have turned down the sort of money discussed, Uche or no Uche.
Maybe he needs a new agent, maybe Wrexham decided they fancied Armstrong more. I guess we’ll find out in season three.
Never a "waste of space". There is clearly a good player in there somewhere. He just hasn't nailed down a place because he doesn't fit in our system. To be fair, it may not be too long before he is given a chance ahead of Vokes if he keeps misfiring.
Hopefully we will see a motivated and rejuvinated Mustard.

Surely with the Moon reference it's Armstrong from Harrogate.
*Quickly scouts Wikipedia to see if a Brandon has ever walked on the Moon*
Oh yeah you're right, guess that means no Hanlan and therefore no Uche? Or we've just gone and signed him anyway.
Sounds like Armstrong. I must say - if WWFC are the reason the deal for Hanlan hasn’t been signed, we’re crazy.
Hard to think of a reasonable snag if they wanted him and offered the cash
Not Hanlan.
In the end the ‘no business today lads’ tweet has come courtesy of the BFP.
Incredibly underwhelming end to the day.
So 50 minutes until the transfer window close, settling down with crisps and a pint. Does anyone think Hanlan will sign for Wrexham?
It does close at midnight, right?

It closed at 11
Isn’t there some rule that if a transfer is at a certain stage, the clubs have an additional hour to submit paperwork etc?
Except there is an hour to conclude paperwork if a deal sheet is signed by all parties

We don't have that...at all.
If Hanlan stays, I don't think I'd actually want to add Uche's wages.
I believe so. However - Wrexham appear to have moved on with Armstrong, so our market for Hanlan has gone.

Is this all because Blooms was furious with his interview with Phil on Tuesday evening?
The whole thing seems really odd, so there must be a lot more to this than meets the eye.

He doesn't fit the current system - he's a wide player, would settle into a 3-4-3 nicely imo
He's not a wide player though. I think he's a 2nd striker but with the correct partner - which we don't have.
To replace Vokes he needs to be able to control the ball, retain possession, win free kicks when he falls over and read the game

Wrexham admin seems completely fed up…
This was their big follow-up to a few teaser posts and changing their header banner to a picture of the moon.
Wycombe haven't tweeted since 5pm 👀
23:30 Anthony Stewart [Aberdeen - MK Dons] Loan
Despite the disappointment, be of stout heart lads and lasses, we have a good team, we're not bottom of the league and it's a long season.
