I always tuck my shirt in, and I wish footballers would do the same. That would leave less material for opposition defenders to grab hold of when trying to pull back a player making a forward run.
It looks cooler untucked, allows some air flow, and without being too personal, as none of us are adonises on here (apart from @micra ), it can mask the different lumps and bumps we pick up.
Also, in the crowd, even with some of your behaviour on here, I doubt anyone is going to try and grab hold of you 😏
I gave up trying to look 'cool' at least 20 years ago.
And I wouldn't want anyone trying to pull me back when in the queue at the beer tent, or while queuing for chips at the kiosk. That could lead to a major incident 😐️
For balance, I should add that I often tuck my shirt into my jeans and I'm a yoof who could be in slightly better shape. But it has kind of come back into fashion.
Just revisited this thread after several weeks. In keeping with my normal practice when vast numbers of pages have accumulated, I only looked at the last page and had to backtrack to find the picture that I assumed you were alluding to.
I accidentally blew the picture up and I have to say it rather startled me. I think I’d built up a more flattering image in may mainds aye. And yes, I’ve one or two friends of similar vintage to me (therefore considerably older than @bargepole) and, for some reason, they seem to insist on tucking their shirts into their trousers (and fortunately much more rarely!) their shorts. Not a good look.
Just returned from a lovely few days in Aarhus, Denmark (well worth a weekend break!). Little did I know (until noticing on google maps) that's where Hummel HQ is. I went into the reception to find that despite looking like a mini exhibition it's a working office and they only really have visits from players to try on the kits etc. I remarked that it's handy they are right next to a dock for shipping only to be told that their factories are in Pakistan and Bangladesh (doh).
@Malone The answer given, to my question on your behalf last night, from the Trust Chair (confirmed by Club Directors) was that the new kits are "expected to last for two years!
In which case a marketing opportunity missed. Telling fans at launch this is a two year kit may persuade more to invest. Not sure why the club didn’t put this issue to bed when first raised?
@Malone you go on to answer your own question, as you iterate reasons they should have ‘clarified’ the situation to close down an ongoing debate based on rumour and supposition. 5 mins work.

"You wear it well, a little old fashioned, but itt's alrigggght"
But on a serious note, Bargey is nailed on to be in the gasroom hunks calendar.
Would it look better, not tucked in?
If you wear Farafit you show off that high waisted look.
I think gents of a certain age insist on tucking in, all my aged relatives do.
But yes, unless you're a particularly trim fella, wearing a footy shirt tightly tucked in is a difficult sell.

If you've got it, flaunt it.

Can't say I've ever tucked in a football shirt other than when I've been playing, though...
To be honest when my shirt finally gets here i will look like that as i'm podgy and 63 years old.
Just received my new home shirt in the post. I think this is one of the best shirts since the Vandanel days. Very pleased with it.
Can you post pictures of you in the shirt please, choose your own backdrop, ideally one tucked in and one tucked out.
Let the viewers decide.

@NiceCarrots Here you are then - all ready for a stroll on the pier before we play Brighton away in the League Cup 3rd Round:
Much better untucked.
And you could easily pass for a backup band member in a Ska band.
This secures you February in the Gasroom hunks calendar.

Love it
I wonder if Arsenal fans use a similar chant 🧐

Good stuff. Thanks, Alan.
Top man!
Hopefully the word "expected" isn't working too hard in that sentence, but appreciate that you remembered to come back to me.
@ReturnToSenda unexpected, but sounds good.
Fingers crossed
In which case a marketing opportunity missed. Telling fans at launch this is a two year kit may persuade more to invest. Not sure why the club didn’t put this issue to bed when first raised?
The point is that every kit we have should be a 2 year kit.
So there would be no need to say this?
It was a few scurrilous rumours seemingly based on nothing that suggested it was 1 year only.
Plus the club's bizarre insistence of just talking about the next year, like they do with player contracts
"Scowen will be here this season".
Whne there's every chance he signed a 2 year etc.

"expected to last for two years" sounds like it's just going to disintegrate like a mission impossible message.
Perhaps it's the world's first home compostable football shirt? Blame David Wheeler!
As a rule I think clubs try not to get into a game of having to reject fans speculation.
