I think it's a FA requirement to have 3 different shirt colours named ahead of a season. There isn't any ruling to say how many times those shirts have to be worn unless the home & away shirts have different sponsors and the club has agreed to wear them so many times.
Ever since the Man Utd grey shirt incident (where they changed it at half-time) have clubs had 3 options. Some clubs used to think the 3rd shirt was "lucky-er" or they played better when playing in that shirt compared to the branded away option
I agree with you and I'd like to see someone from the club properly confirm that these kits are 1 year only now.
I don't want to have to guess from wording, especially when we often say a player is "signed up for 202324" but are actually on a longer deal. So saying this is the kit for 202324 doesn't necessarily mean it's 1 year to me.
Like you rightly say if the held for 2 year thing has gone, say it and amend the policy officially.
The one season that I remember us not having a 3rd kit, we magically made a 3rd kit because there was a circumstance where we needed it (very similar to the new red one). From memory it was Reading away - Sean Devine's first game for us.
I don't know why people are so offended about having a 3rd kit? I'd imagine the target market is mostly kids so if it generates revenue, I'm all for it.
So we're two games into the season, and one still can't buy any merch from Hummel except the 3 kits? Really does seem a bit of a shambles not having all sorts of other accessories and apparel available already.
Sounded like the club are as responsible as Hummel for the delays as the deal was sorted pretty late, and tbh they were pretty clear the kit wouldn't be here for a while at the outset. JMac said last night the players have just got their training gear and it's all really nice so hopefully some will get to the club shop before too long then we can go back to moaning about how expensive it all is ๐คฃ
I haven't been to a barbers for years. I have a home haircutting kit with clippers, and the present Mrs Bargepole just runs them over my head every four weeks or so on no. 2 setting, job done. No poncing about with fades, or tattoos for that matter.

Red kits will always remind me of John Williams, with one half of Layer Road all to himself...
I mostly remember John Williams in the red and black striped offering, for some reason...
Opening game range launch.
Happy with the design?
You and Dale would, of course. I prefer it to the Carlisle memorial shirt.
I will raise it at next Trust Board meeting if not before.
Thanks chief.
thanks, @AlanCecil

You can't even buy the third kit yet - and even the others are still only on pre-order. A bit rubbish.
Let's worry about getting hold of the actual shirts first. That's step one. Fancy stuff can wait.
It does seem pretty poor that St Albans City's new Hummel kits are in stock and ours still aren't - and they don't just have generic designs either.
Are they new to Hummel as well this season?
Ah, no. But... It looks like they've got their kits on a two-year cycle, so maybe there's a chance we have too.

Talking of St Albans City, I've just looked on their website and the person modelling their kit doesn't look anywhere near old enough to have tattoos!
Or have I just got to that point in life where I'm old and everyone else looks too young?
I don't know how old you are, but I'm in my late 20s and I feel the same way ๐
Us young-oldies need to stick together! (I'm early 30's btw)
Young men with more money than they know what to do with = a sleeve of tattoos and two haircuts a week.
If only we still had the hair for that...
We can pretend we have two haircuts a week @StrongestTeam
I am now reduced to two haircuts a year ๐
I remember buying some horrific bits of clothing when a lot younger.
Imagine making an equally daft tattoo choice but having that permanently reminding you.
I have to choose which hair they cut
The percentage ratio of chat versus actual haircutting has definitely changed for me over the years!
My barber went into great detail about fades and how they need constant attention. The explanation took longer than my cut.

Do they match in with the seasons? Winter coat and Summer coat?
