@our_frank before I contact Bargy for the name of his solicitor, could you point me to the thread where I claimed what you have attributed to me, re Ward, in speech marks?
I like the lad, I’ve even been accused of being his dad elsewhere, although no paternity suit has been received to date.
Yes I predicted his signing way before he joined us and continued to champion the kid through last season. This is because I have seen him play a full 90 on several occasions albeit way down the pyramid. Having watched non-league footie for 50+ years I can confidently say he impressed me more than any other player I’d seen at his age and development stage. Fact that we signed him from a level way below that of even Memeti should tell us of his potential. But we’ll see.
If I were a QPR fan, already suffering from the poor man's Chelsea delusion issue, I'd be pretty aghast at the two main signings in mid July being from a league 1 side who missed the playoffs.

It is certainly a risky strategy from Gareth and Dobbo. I thought they would be looking up rather than down for their signings...but it has worked in the past so who knows. I hope they are soon mid-table so the fans can only moan about late subs and a lack of Plan B.
They can look up, not sure they can pay up. Would seem like they haven't got a pot to piss in. Prem loans might be the plan but they won't be an attractive option.
So it's possible they won't be able to afford to pay off Gaz, Dobbo, Dave Waites and whoever else went to West Londonshire wherever they are come Christmas?
Other sources suggest the true figure is £1.2m including add ons. I’m always sceptical about published transfer fees as deals are so complex these days that the final figure is often much higher than the initial price.
Lots of QPR ITKs now saying Forino has signed for them now, or is a done deal. Based on their track record, I think we can break out the champagne to celebrate Chris being with us for another season.
That would be good for us, but what's the logic for QPR? They could just make an approach "at the end of the season" when he's out of contract and sign him for nothing.
Not quite sure what the logic is for Gareth at QPR all in.
Unless they think he's ready to start regularly in the championship straight away, it's surely the absolute last club (bar Chelsea) that you'd want to be thinking long term at?
Up until recently, I was of the "QPR fans are awful, but I hope they do well for GA's sake." However, their supporters have been so consistently demeaning towards us as a club over this transfer window that I am on the edge of hoping they are relegated anyway, with apologies to GA and Dobbo.
Plenty of logic in it, at the moment Gaz knows him far better than any other would-be suitors, but if he has a good start to the season there may be other teams in the market for him come January and/or July 2024. Furthermore, there's no guarantee that QPR will be a Championship club come the end of the next year. If they want him but think another year or half-year in League One is best for his development, they would be crazy to hedge their bets.

Probably
Does Gareth coming in for Forino suggest that they've struggled to recruit other targets?
With all due respect to Forino who could develop into a championship starter in time.

Anything else expected today @kipper ?
I’ve thought this too. It’s hardly a signing to get pulses racing in Shepherds Bush is it?
If Forino moves to QPR, then maybe we can include Sinclair Armstrong in the deal. Looks a good young talent.
I'd like to think we're at least looking at him for a loan
Unless GA thought he could get Chris on the cheap as he knows he's out of contract at the end of the season?

They’ve signed Begović

They got £2m for Dieng and around £800k for Dickey in thr last couple of weeks so they have money to spend.

Watford must be minted in that case.
The analysis guy went as well I believe.
Wow, just £800k for Dickie puts F-J’s value into perspective.

They are a real weird bunch.
You'll always get the posters who just read stuff is imminent on twitter, then try and break it like they're ITK.
Could there be a possibility that Forino be loaned back for the season?
That would be good for us, but what's the logic for QPR? They could just make an approach "at the end of the season" when he's out of contract and sign him for nothing.
Forgot about the contract situation! Unless we're bluffing and he actually has 10 years remaining on his deal

It seems to be gathering momentum. I’m still selfishly saying too soon for him.
Probably add Watford to that list
I used to work with a QPR fan, strange fellow.
