You word it almost in a charming way, as if he innocently stepped in here and for no reason started getting abuse.
My recollection is slightly different, and would say coming onto the forum of a club almost bankrupted by an owner's tying in of us with Wasps, and attempt to reposition them as the main club and us as mere tenants and championing things about the arrangement is a certain way to get people's backs up.
Let alone the wealth talk etc.
A legal threat would be met with an instant deletion on a lot of forums, I think he's exceptionally lucky the doc is such a fair tolerant guy.
Fair enough - I think it is understandable everyone is going to come at this differently. I am very new to the club, and missed the Wasps saga, so a certain amount of ignorance on my part as far as how offended people would be, whereas I have always been personally bewildered by how Chas derides swathes of people. Some ignorance there too no doubt, as I am not from Bucks and have been gone from the UK a long time anyway, so I end up with vague impressions of a murderous chino-wearing gang on the rampage in Marlow, who must be stopped at all costs.
On the last part I do think the same could be said for Chas too. Not many people would call someone vermin without getting pushback. Doc does give second chances.
I do think James should be given a little slack, he’s trying his hardest to increase the coverage. I remember when we won promotion from L2, we had a four page pullout…then it just dropped off massively and we were barely mentioned!
I sometimes think "what a crock of utter spelling and grammar utter inanities" on reading some of it.
Then remember it's a young guy, on an under resourced paper doing the best he can to give us constant coverage. And that, having seen the miserable Wasps days where our beloved BFP buried our coverage deep into the middle of the paper, should be nothing but applauded.
Yep, sometimes the "Dev" battling stuff gets a bit uncomfortable, although he's a poster who some would say clearly posts in a way to get a rise out of people too.
I think we all have the odd niggle at posters who pop up who are clearly on the WUM, and we all disagree with different things.
But when it develops into a proper long term back and forward it's simply easier to just put them on "ignore", then you aren't tempted.
I had to do that with a poster who would literally follow me around and constantly, maybe 4 or 5 times a week would be quoting my posts with either swears/blasphemy or just snipes.
I believe @Right_in_the_Middle found similar, and I hope he's alright as haven't seen him about for a while. While we had a few disagreements, he always took it in the right heart and bore no grudges.
I have had many dealings with James and he is a good lad and a very promising young journalist. Yes, there are too many minor errors in the BFP but that isn’t down to him and he’s doing his best to keep our club at the forefront of the BFP’s sports coverage.
I’m with you on this, people bicker on here constantly when things get too intense and personal other posters tell them to chill out.
I would never dream of taking action outside of the forum and why would I strangely enough my real name isn’t Morris Ital and I don’t look like David Niven.
The vast majority of gasroomers are like the vast majority of Wycombe supporters, wonderful people.
I never really got the Dev thing. I find a lot of his posts interesting.
I believe Righty is okay, just not posting any more, which is a loss for the forum, for sure.
I agree we all see things differently and that leads to disagreements, such as when few people could see the merits of Nick Freeman. It just becomes distasteful when that line is crossed into abuse.
Do you know Dapper Laughs favourite type of trousers? Chinos!!
(Because Dapper Laughs was a minor comedian whose catchphrase was 'She knows' which sounds a bit like chinos. He's on GBnews nowadays as his comedy career went tits up. I always thought he was a cheeky chappy in the Max Miller style but these aren't the best times to be a cheeky chappy. Three weeks to go)
Tell me about it! As I started this thread, I get a notification everytime someone comments! I log on and find myself with up to 50 notifications and normally miss the ones where I'm tagged or someone replies to me!

Never a fan of Max Müller but comparing him to Dapper Laughs is just harsh.
@Otter87 if you go to your profile, then notification settings, there is an option for ‘Notify me when people comment on my discussions’. I would imagine if you untick this you’ll stop getting notifications about new posts on this thread (and any others you started.)
Have to say the ongoing row between @ChasHarps and @bargepole is becoming increasingly boring and rather pathetic. This is supposedly two grown men having a pop at each other on a football forum. For the sake of everyone’s sanity , let’s get back to football matters. Sure we can disagree on matters but at least keep it civilised. We’re not bloody teenagers .

In fairness, most of my edits are where i'm quickly correcting spellz in case @micra's wife has let him on the internet.
I would have to disagree. The regular bullying and abuse dished out by the ex poster is far beyond banter.
It’s not just one poster that he’s regularly attacked either. It’s a regular theme when he dislikes someone and he seems to revel in it.

This is a good point too. Putting Bargey aside, Chas used to regularly insult AP too if I remember correctly
Very good point.

That could be half the forum in fairness! I remember a few times defending him and getting abuse myself 😁

You're a pure soul who doesn't have the level of cynicism a lot of us have. Not sure if it's a cultural thing maybe.
To some of us Dev will argue white is black if he thinks the grain says it's white 😊
I just moved on when people kept saying Nick Freeman. I assumed it had just become a meme rather than honestly believing he was a gamechanger.
I also refuse to view any pun threads 😂
Just read what thread we're on.
Some poor posters are going to think the rumours have been going absolutely nuts overnight.
Am also up at 5.30am tomorrow so best call it a night.
'Night then! To all those reading, rumours of there being rumours have been greatly exaggerated.
Any new Wycombe rumour mill news?
Not long till the football starts.

I started a political debate thread to "keep this thread clean". Just look what happened.
I'm going to fill my car back up at Cressex, better chance of hearing a rumour.
🙋♂️... that'll be me
Sorry. No ill intent meant. Just throwing in a (as I saw it) comic aside

@drcongo is there anyway to change this?
I feel for you - I started Other Football, which has around 5400 comments to date!
I think there must be a way to change it in your settings as I don’t get any notifications from the Gasroom.

Maybe we should just have a 'General Chaos' thread

But in the end if we hang around long enough all threads will reach their natural end when we avieve entropy
Save it for the judge… wait, wrong conversation.
