Was it @bargepole who asked someone if anything had even been applied for (road) ? Sorry can't remember the exact details, and was waiting to hear back ?
As far as I can establish there hasnt been a formal planning application, but given it is unlikely to be a local authority adopted road due to it being on the Dashwood Estate & possibly may not be fully mettaled it may not require the same level of planning consent. From what he has said they are likely having long conversations with the planning department, the Dashwoods & probably a planning lawyer to establish exactly what is required & getting the necessary contracts & permits in place.
I honestly think that was just a slip of the tongue, he clearly meant automatic promotion spots as he referred to Wednesday being in the playoffs final later in the interview. I agree with your overall assessment that he was refreshingly honest whether or not you agreed with what he said.
I agree it was refreshingly honest interview. Interesting comments on the potential use of loanees, the ‘ famous’ road and the rebuilding of the stands. Clearly very unimpressed with the Trust and the capabilities of the directors. To be honest when you watch the Trust Board Meetings it never fills me with much confidence.
Yes agreed. Well done to Wycombe sound and a massive well done to Phil.
I was thinking maybe the questions would be very censored and Rob would have given a pre list of acceptable questions to ask... but this was not the case. Phil made sure everything that we could have wanted asked was covered. Kodos for that.
I appreciated Rob’s candour and Phil was excellent as always.
He doesn’t shy away from difficult topics, yet asks his questions with a mixture of curiosity, warmth and good faith that puts the interviewee at ease.
Yes, I sent a FOI request to Bucks Council, asking for details of any application, formal or informal, received from the club re; construction of a new access road.
After listening to some and then reading the transcript I feel pretty good about the responses (kudos @bluntphil for the Paxman role).
Rob still has a bit to learn about the cynical English / Wycombe fans. I hope his positivity changes us rather than us drag him down. Lots of suggestions that we are going to be seeing a better experience next season. Not convinced the road is the panacea though.
Comments
Hes hanging alot on this bloody road.... thats my only issue with all this........
I agree @Alexo
There will be lot of humble pie being eaten & egg on face if it does not happen, though I suspect he is a lot closer to fruition than he is letting on

Something's gone very wrong if we're dragging our feet on the chairlift

Apart from a few unnecessary drops into politics... on a whole im happy with that interview.
I hope the magical road is as much of a thing as he thinks it is as all of the stadium improvements are based on this happening.
I am happy with his talk on playing budget.... I took it as we can expect a couple/few decent known an tested players as additions and a f
Couple/few savvy loan players from the prem to supplement and add quality without having to payout for loads of quality permanent signings.
I think this is the sensible approach
Yeah... when I heard his later comments it became apparent it was a slip of the tongue

Massive thanks to Phil for hosting and also kudos to Wycombe Sound for allowing him the time to ask more questions.
It was a very professional production and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Their reply is expected around mid-June.
Will listen later.
But if he really can't understand why us keeping the ground safeguards the future, there are no words!
Thanks for tuning in last night, we’ll be uploading the show today if anyone missed it and wants to catch up.
Well done Phil, good job as always.
I missed his answer to 10 duck sized bears vs 1 bear sized duck
Bears rip your face off so he’d rather face off against the giant duck.
Also favourite cheese is ‘blue’.
I've only read the transcript, butRob did well didn't he? Maybe there's scope to do this once or twice a season.
If you’ve tried to buy cheese in the States you’ll know their selection is lamentable. English & French so much better.
American cheese makes me sad.
Where can I find the transcript?
Can't be worse than their chocolate.

The show is up to listen again, either on Ringing The Blues or on the Wycombe Sound website...

The latest Ringing The Blues is up now on all the usual podcast places…
A plea.
@bluntphil please, please, please. Not 'content' . Just don't say 'content'. Please.
New Ringing the Blues live was a pleasant surprise for this morning's dog walk.
