I too find myself a little relieved we’re now into the post-season. It’s felt like an incredibly long season, lots of highs along the way but I’ll be excited to let the summer play out and see what happens
Let's all feel the sweet relief of @glasshalfempty who wanted the season to be over in October!
Feels good to be done. Need an actual off-season for the first time in years. Take a breather, let Blooms get to work and get some players in. Been an emotionally exhausting 9 months.
9th is, still I believe, our 4th ever highest finish so we ought to be proud of what we ultimately achieved given how the season started, the injuries we struggled with & the loss of GA & RD.
Now let's hope that MB & his team are given the full support they deserve to develop their style over the summer with some new blood to bolster the squad.
Good end to the season. Gaps we know need filling in the squad were evident when Vokes started to struggle. Lots of players looking good for next season and reason to be optimistic.
Obviously the last third of the season has been a big (if inevitable) disappointment, but ninth in L1 is nothing to sniff at. I’m looking forward to seeing what Blooms can do with a full pre-season, our first since 2019!
Franchise down, the failed experiment takes one more step toward oblivion. I always thought that having them in the same county was the equivalent of having a stained mattress dumped on your front lawn.
For me a fine season - 6 points off Oxford, 6 points off P'boro, home win against Derby, creditable performances against all the top sides and not spoilt by losing Ainsworth at what was for us probably the worst moment in the season.
For next season, living where I do, I am delighted with the relegation of mk, it will give me a glow everytime I drive through the place on the way to Wycombe. I keep my closest away fixture, well done Cambridge, gain Orient and Stevenage. Then there is Reading to look forward to. Maybe we even get to sing "You're going down with the Oxford"
It would be nice if our regular visitors appeared again before the season closes - @FarmerCee to keep us up-to-date with an insider's guide to Bolton's play-off progress, and @Raminpeace to explain how it all went so terribly wrong...
The way Taffs came over first and threw his shirt into the crowd at the end did feel a little like an affectionate goodbye. I hope not though - he did not have his best day, but what a player!

No hiding place for keepers. Bridging that gap between academy football and real football is hard enough for outfield players.
Super max
Come on Burton, get those franchise c###s out of this league - so much better when we’re rid of the “Bucks derby”.
Is this a joke? TJay has signed hasn't he?
Just seen the Wing goal - bloody hell! And still not quite our goal of the season (Gape v Barnsley imo).
Thought it was only a rumour
And, assuming he does go, what a way to sign off!
I don’t think Wheels was offside at the end there.
Be a nice irony if Gape gets goal of the season.
Quite a good feeling to end the season.
MK relegated, you just love to see it
Franchise down. A good day.

And the Tax Dodgers failed to buy the league.

MK down and Derby not making the playoffs, not a bad day.

Evolution not revolution
Prepared for down votes here. But the red card for Derby was horrific. One of the worst decisions I’ve seen all season.
That just makes it even funnier

Maybe they can get an appeal and delay everything for a few months.
We need to evolve not.......revolve
Oh I am so happy Derby are staying in L1 and MK went down. What a day.

Hanlan had an excellent game away at Bristol Rovers.

I still think our keeper is our best signing this season. Enjoy the summer guys.
