I suspect I was the only person on here not to know (or be able to work out!) what it stood for.
A player who was extremely highly rated during his time at Brockenhurst and at The Pro Academy is 19 year old Christie Ward. He is a strapping lad, at least 6’ tall, and is an attacking, goal-scoring midfielder. He scored a couple of goals during his brief loan spell with Hungerford Town. On the bench for the last few games but presumably not seen yet as ready (ahead of Freeman, for example) to be brought on to replace tiring midfield legs.
I’ve not seen Christie play and would be interested to hear from anyone who has, particularly from the point of view of a potential replacement for Lewis Wing.
I don't forget writing it, though I do fail to see the criticism of the club you're implying exists. You can consider it a response to your post two minutes into the thread, which then sparked the discursion away from celebrating the new contracts and into the status of other players.
As for Max..... I said that Wheeler and Grimmer were two of my three favourite Wycombe players. I didn't say who was my third....
As we hopefully wait for more senior players to sign, it will be interesting to see what happens with the Development Squad. How many of them have a future with us and get new contracts before the next batch come in.
@micra re Christie Ward, I understand you can only watch games via tv these days but if you get a chance to go to a gentle pre season at somewhere like Chesham then go watch this lad. Midfield isn’t an issue this season but if we sell Wing then we have a ‘box fresh’ ‘oven ready’ replacement in the shape of Ward. I’ve plotted his progress since well before we signed him. He is going to be a star. As I’ve mentioned before were it not for some minor health issues at a key teenage stage the lad would still be at Chelsea, that is his level. Going to make some serious money for us one day.
That’s great news. Many thanks for confirming the impression I’d gained. And to think that I fought shy of mentioning the 19 goals Christie scored from midfield (I assume) for Brockenhurst in 50 appearances as a 17/18 year old ! [Derision enough already for my ill-judged positive comments about the potential of another player’s prolific goalscoring achievements at a lower placed club !]
I was saying positive things about Mehmeti long before he started to sparkle in the Championship but I cheated. I’d listened to JJ, in response I think to a question from @bluntphil, about development squad players, saying that there was one in particular who would almost certainly be featuring in the first team before the end of the season. It soon became clear who that was.
Really hoping that Christie Ward will become the third development player to make it big.

ITK which was missing in the quoted comment.

Oh it happened haha. He got dropped for Forino for a while

Can we all agree now to relax about signings and humour the pant wetters.

We do jest of course.
But pretty sure you also said Mawson could be on his way out transfer wise. But then he retired. So you're not 100% here bud.

Is it bothering anyone else that the thread title could have been "New deals for Grimmer and Wheels" but isn't?
That's how my brain read it

This is at least your third iteration of this sort of message. I can’t wait to watch him play.
Surely they aren't going to let us go in to the weekend without another announcement....
Frustratingly, the same thought entered my head only seconds after pressing 'post'.

@micra This ‘box fresh’ ‘oven ready replacement, is it the same as the Boris Brexit deals? 😂
Ha ha! I did wonder about that. But I trust @perfidious_albion’s judgement.
@EwanHoosaami: did you think that was my judgment?
